i dont understand why this even exists

the whole purpose of going to jail is for the person going is to serve the time given for committing the crime and hopefully become rehabilatated and become a productive member of soceity again

this is obviously not possible for someone sentenced to life without parole, or the even more stupid life plus 20 yrs, etc. like the guy is gonna die, come back to life and then serve another 20 ??

think of how much money is spent keeping these scumbags alive who have no chance of ever becoming a productive member of soceity, theres no point in keeping them around, if they committed a crime worthy of death then they should get it

now i know that there'll be some innocent people who get incarcerated, but thats what appeals are for

and there shouldnt be like ohh this guy has been on death row for 25 yrs
give each person 3 appeals and after that get the chair or lethal injection

You can actually keep someone in prison for something like 300 years for the amount it costs to pursue all the appeals and evidentiary hearings in a death penalty case. The cost is not an issue.

Life in prison without parole works for me because it does allow for release if evidence that exonerates them is found, and, if not, they are permanently removed from society anyway.

That's true. There should be a way where the convicted criminal can do something (more substantial than making license plates) to counter-balance his or her lodging.

that's not the whole purpose of sending someone to jail. part of the purpose of sending someone to jail is punishment for the crime(s) he or she has committed, and removal from society for the safety of society. your point isn't entirely without merit, i guess, i'm just sayin'.

no for most people its punishment for the crime

im saying for the people who commit such heinous crimes that they have no chance of ever getting out

whats the point of that ?? just kill em and move on

and i know that the current system allows for them to be in litigation forever and thats why their on death row for like 25 yrs or whatever but we can ammend that as well
