Most times its just salt and pepper. Sometimes some montreal seasoning. Every once in a while I might brush some type of sauce on the steak while it is on the grill.

Steak tips are usually lower quality meat, so I usually marinate them.

But I don't think I ever marinate steak. The most is montreal seasoning, but even that's very rare. Salt, pepper, cast iron grill pan, eat. That's it.

You know what's so weird about your part of the state? There are cows everywhere, and no good steaks anywhere. I kept getting told that I needed to go to Buffalo to get a good steak.

Miles and miles of farms and shitty meat everywhere.

Club Steak: Sometimes called Delmonico, after the famed 19th century New York dining club that specialized in this steak, the club steak is triangular, smaller than a T-bone, but with the same large "eye" section. It is cut from the short loin, next to the rib end, and when cut properly, it is a delicious and tender steak. You can tell the quality by looking at the steak's "eye"--the meat should be fine in texture with delicate marbling; avoid cuts that seem coarse or contain fat chunks.

Just a bit of oil, chopped garlic, parsley, salt and pepper rolled around in this mixture, maybe a bay leaf, and then put on the grill. Does not need to sit long, just till the grill heats up. I guess you could say it is a kind of marinade, but its not soaking in it like chicken.

I get 1/2 a cow for the family once a year, and there are some undesirable. Not really undesirable, just a particular cut, "chuck steak" that grills pretty well due to fat content, but is not necessarily one of my favorite flavored steaks.

I Beat it with tenderizer hammer, and then marinate while the charcoal is burning down, 15-30 min, in Chivetta's. Chivetta's is a vinegar based marinate, popular in chicken barbeques. Flavors this steak well.

My asshole former boss took me and another guy to dinner, they both ordered "Fillet Mignon" then both proceeded to slather the fillet with FUCKING A-1!!! I ordered the Ribeye and ate it plain, he tried hard to get me to try the a-1. I said "you guys just ruined $60 in steaks, I wont ruin another $20."

T-Bone steak should be fried in pan, no marinates or salt/pepper. I eat mine nearly burnt and with 1 green onion.

It's like Liver and onions, they just go together, without the onion all you've got is a slab of dry meat.

Why waste money on steak if you're just going to burn it? Just burn something cheaper; it will taste the same.

It's dry because you burn it, duh.

Also, steak sauce should not be allowed to carry the name "steak: for that's an insult.

totally depends on the cut.

and the delmonico cut is disputed, but i've most often seen it used as an alternative name for a ny strip. when did that become a steak for commoners, leeder?

The only marinaded steaks I eat are extra ones from work. New York cuts. At home it's usually always ribeyes; salt, pepper, grill. I've never marinaded a steak in my life. It's just something extra to do to the meat which I don't need done.

There are at least eight different cuts which are claimed to be the original for the Delmonico Steak

While he is sleeping you need to slap him around with a burnt steak and water board him using BBQ sauce. Maybe that kind of conditioning will break him of that horrid behavior.

That's a rub (montreal).

If you haven't found a great piece of steak without a marinade I suggest that you stop buying your meat from outside of bull fighting arenas.

My parents will always order a steak well done because of the food poisoning scares from 20 years ago. Then they slather it in A1 and act like they just had a feast meant for a king. I tell them to just order a hamburger and save $20.

And what's wrong with vagina holes? Most of us guy spend our entire lives trying to get those.

My dad always insisted on his steak well done too; hell, if it was burned a bit on the outside, so much the better.

So I ate mine like that until one glorious day I decided, what the fuck, let's order it medium rare.

I never looked back.

I'd rather eat a medium-rare steak and die than be forced to dine on well done meat and live a long, but unhappy, life.

Good steak = no marinade
Bad steak = marinade

London Broil you get for 1.99/lb might has well be a flip flop on a grill with salt and pepper on it.
