Well, bbq season is in full swing. What games do you play to pass the time while sitting in the sun drinking, grilling and listening to music?
What are your favorite classics or ones that you have made up with your friends (drinking games very much included)?
My favorite is cornhole. I can't be the only one who plays this game around here, can I? I find it to be the best summer yard game. That's right, I'm talking to you horseshoes.
Cornhole (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cornhole) is a game, similar to horseshoes, where teams stand 30 feet apart and throw bean bags towards inclined wooden boards with a hole cut out in them. You get points for accuracy.
I first learned about it 3 summers ago on vacation in Chicago. It is very fun to play while drunk because the beanbags are much safer than horseshoes. It's less involved other complicated games that require 'activity'. It's the best.

And yes, it is a synonym for buttfucking in some parts, I am aware. That adds a great layer when taunting my family members.

Oh, no doubt kid. I still remember my house ground rules to this day. Cuz if you can get it over the house, you deserve a triple. Am I right?

I like corn hole, but we just call it bean bags, cause corn hole just sounds weird. Mostly we just sit around the fire, drinking and talking. Not so much energy for games.

When we were kids we played chicken with Jarts. Stand about 10 feet away from each other and underhand toss it as close to the other guy's feet as you can get without hitting them.
The flincher loses.

I have no idea, I never play it. I pretty much refuse to participate out of principle (I don't know what principle that is though, maybe me moving into the area during high school).
Out in the slate belt of PA the game is huge, as in pretty much every single person in the Lehigh Valley either has their own set or knows how to play. If you go to a summer BBQ at a house of a local person they will be playing this game, or someone will be wishing they were playing it.
From what I know it's two teams of two people, like horseshoes, and they toss the heavy rings onto the slate board at the opposite side. Scores based on who's closest.

We built a shuffleboard table (initially) for our back porch, which is really long and narrow. As expensive, heavy, and weird as it is to have around it's great to have people over to play.

It sounds like a commitment to get one but that might be the best. Just the excitement of seeing that game not on a cruise ship would be enough.

My new favorite summer game is durango boot. It's a frisbee game in which you must aim to knock over an opponents empty bottle. its a lot of running, so no drinking. i suggest it.

Lawn darts.
I had mine taken away in the Army. I lent my set to these 4 guys and one of them ended up trying to catch one that fucked his hand up fairly good. You can't buy them now a days.
Horse shoes are fun, better at night when you are trying to ensure you are not hit in the shin.
Last weekend up at my property we played shoot the watter bottle with the shotgun.
1) Must have started drinking beer around 10am.
2) pull empty water bottles out of the trash to burn pile
3) fill bottles about 1/4 full of cooler water
4) stand near power lines
5) use old shot gun shells
6) brother stands next to you ready to throw bottle up in the air
7) bottle thrown, empty 5 shots as quickly into the bottle as you can
8) pick up remnants of bottle and show it off
9) later that evening wonder why your ears are still ringing
10) wake up next morning with a bruise on your shoulder from shooting a couple boxes of shells
