Should this coach be fired too for running up the score?

Joe Morgan said on Sunday Night Baseball tonight that he would never steal when his team was up more than 4 runs. What a pussy.

Everytime you steal in MLB The Show when you're up by 5 runs, the announcers call you out for being a dick.

I think Florida State went through the same thing when they had Buster Posey play all 9 positions in one game. The opposing coach thought it was a classless move, like they didn't take the opposition seriously. I say, have a better baseball team and beat the team that's trying to get one of their players some meaningless record.

5/29/09 WAS AN INSIDE JOB

Be careful with the gimmicks or you might just find yourself on Monday's show.

That was amazing. What can you do, Coach Martin sub'd for every position except ss, which he said they had no backup for. As long as they wern't stealing or bunting after the 3rd inning (20-0 at that time), nothing you can do. All I know is I love pro baseball but you don't get to see cool things like a 25 inning 3-2 game folled the next day by a 37-6 game. Ohio St. should have aggreed to a run rule.

I just saw all the highlights and it didn't look like FSU was being douchey.

I'm a huge college baseball fan and I've never liked Mike Martin, not because of anything he's done but just because his program never get's the job done, and I don't think he did anything wrong here.

They hit 15 doubles and while maybe an early 1 or 2 might've been a guy busting it out of the box the ones in the late innings all appeared to be gappers. You're not gonna tell your player to stop at 1st on something in the alley.

There were " only " 5 errors by Oh St so it's not even like they fielded too sloppy.

Give credit to FSU as they hit everything.

They showed a clip where it looked like Martin and the Oh St coach were chatting w/ the umpire later in the game and maybe Martin was asking them if they wanted to call it but apparently they didn't.

I just saw that the BC/Texas game on Saturday night went 25 innings and some reliever for Texas pitched 12 1/3 hitless innings in relief. That's not bad.

My LSU Tigers advance waiting to play either Rice or Kansas St in the Supers.

2 words Mercy Rule, in college sports, a lead (10-15 runs) should end in a mercy rule

since their is no mercy rule, i see no problem

I'm guessing the coach you're bringing up is the coach who ran up the score and played D on a school for developmentally disabled kids.

As FSU was playing Ohio State and not Michigan, I don't see a problem.

I think each league may have it's own mercy rule but that's probably waived off in the post season.

I was at the game. In the 5th inning Mike Martin had a conference with the OSU coach to see if they could call the game after seven. When they agreed, they checked with the Numbnut Codgers Asinine Association and were denied. They said it had to go nine by rule. Ironic that that particular rule was developed for the purpose of not allowing a team in a tournament to save pitching by playing a shorter game than some future opponent. Since this was a final game, the rational didn't apply but we all know how hard it is for the NCAA to think outside the box.

Felt sorry for your team. They were just exhausted after giving everything they had in the tank in 94 degree heat to beat Georgia. Martin did everything he could short of telling his kids to just lay down and he said he still felt uncomfortable. You are right that he is a class act 100%.

Looks like FSU should've saved some of those runs for Arkansas.
