Maybe it is me. But Steve C is the Executive Producer? Executive. And he comes to work in shorts or capris, whatever they were and usually a shirt with sleeves cut off.
Yeah, hard to understand why the company doesn't take them seriously.
Leave the wacky shirts to the talent and dress like a professional. How about full length jeans and a polo to start.

You are in a glass office with every Sirius executive. Let me know how many are wearing capris and sleeveless shirts.

Just wanted to vent.

Well Steve got where he was being who he wanted to be. He's a tattooed guy who loves porn and can take a beating on air. You don't think part of him knew he was going to get fucked with for the pants? Fuck it, maybe they were comfortable.

I think Steve is perfectly content with his spot and the executives at Sirius know what kind of show O&A is, and it's not a button down shirt, suit jacket kind of show. That's why we like it.

I mean think about it, how fucking out of place would a guy in a suit be in there? It's all pooka shell necklaces, Sabbath shirts and 511 gear. Viva La Capris!

I have to disagree. I think Stunt Brain seemed to be a good producer. But, he understood that he needed to at least present a professional image.
I agree, the show, Ant, Opie and Jimmy, should wear the wacky Hawaiian shirts. The producers, especially the EP need to be more professional.
Again, when Steve C has to ask the executives for permission to do something, how well do the tattoos, sleeveless shirt, capris play when the executive is deciding whether to trust Steve C.

Dress the way you want. But, you will be treated a certain way. I don't want to see my attorney in board shorts and a tank top when I visit him in the office. Sure, khakis and a polo, ok, a suit isn't necessary. But, "trendy" capris and sleeveless shirts are not appropriate.

I've never met Steve C. but he certainly sounds like a douchebag of epic proportions.

I think after the age of 25 men should realize they're not rock stars and start dressing appropriately.

My company has a business casual dress code, but we're allowed to still wear shorts in the summer.

But I can't imagine a dress code in radio. Fez would have to stop wearing his sensible blouses.

I knew you would bring up Stunt Brain, but he's just one guy they had for one of the shortest runs in FM they've ever had. They've been doing quite well with their guys dressed like they are.

I understand your point about dressing for success and getting treated professionally but I just don't think the business model is the same in radio.

I think jeans and a normal tshirt might be ok. But, capris and and a sleeveless shirt are just idiotic. The EP is there for his management skills, not his unique personality, that he expresses through flame shirts and expensive nut hugging short pants.

The show does well. But, how often do they complain that management doesn't see things their way. Maybe, if they had a professional looking representative they wouldn't be treated like out of control jocks that need upper management to control them.

Gary is a mess. But I think he is usually in jeans and a polo or regular tshirt.

BUT! Gary has that luxury. Being on the Stern show he can do as he pleases and he will get things done. If O&A feel the bosses are against them, how about trying to appear to be buying into the corporate culture.
Radio has changed drastically in the last few years. All that is left are the suits, and a few big name jocks. It is not the super casual place it used to be.

Maybe I am giving the EP too much credit for thinking its a job that deserves respect. Maybe it is just an intern with a paycheck.

There is no dress code in radio. And serpico, half to three-fourths of the suits at Sirius are either talent, former talent, or former radio sales guys. (i.e. Jon Anthony being the VP of Country programming, shit, E-Lo was talent and a PD before he got the big boy chair at XM)

They aren't stuffy suit investment bankers.

I didn't say he MUST dress a certain way. I said by not dressing a certain way he looks like an idiot.
Did E-Lo keep wearing his Hawaiian shirts when he moved from talent to management?
How many men aren't wearing suits or business casual in that office. When you move from talent you change your attire. Again, this isn't the 80's. Put down the coke, leave the ironic tshirt at home, and dress like someone in an office should dress.
Dress like an outsider, you will be treated like an outsider. Dress like a queer who thinks spending $220 on capris is a smart buy, you will be treated like an idiot.

Oh boy, I knew your "radio" experience would pop up. When was the last time you stepped into Sirius' offices? I have seen Sam interview people in the halls, the VPs, they are wearing guess what? Long pants. Even suits.

Wrong. The guys in the suits tell O&A what they can do. Sure, O&A should be wild and crazy, uncontrollable. But, then Steve C should present the image of someone who can represent the corporation well. Otherwise, the corporation will not trust him, and they will decide the direction of the show.
I guess I mishear every time O&A complain that management didn't let them do this or that. That management denies everyone of Steve's request. Yeah, must be another show.

You have to play management's game. Man.

I dont understand all the bitching about what another man wears to work. Hes got the fucking job doesnt he? Its not he got hired and changed overnight. He seems to be doing fine with what hes wearing and if I had a job that I could wear whatever I want to (I do and its awesome) I would wear whatever was most comfortable including shorts.

Changing his clothes wont get him any more respect at that place. They play Howard Stern ads on his fucking channel for Christs sake. You think putting on a polo shirt is gonna change that? Wrong.

stern has been very critical of gary's attire for years ... gary did spruce things up a bit, but eventually revereted to old ways -- stern noticed and called him out on it

i think there's a natural point where taste and style should mature a bit ... what steve's wearing is pure suburban (jersey) trash, and has no place in any work environment ... you can be an individual, and creative without looking childish

Instead of starting a new Steve thread.

Is it a surprise that a man who wears sleeveless tshirts and capris to work is not treated with respect by his subordinates?

Wow. Did he try to lie his way out of taking every Monday off. Listed 6 or 7 of them, than saying "and so forth and so on," can mean nothing but, I am taking off every Monday until I give other notice.

If you have "executive" any where in your job title how are you away from your cellphone for half a day on a Monday morning? I would understand if he was scuba diving, but lying around his house, he doesn't think he should remain available in case of emergency?
