Ron said that they were considering picking a movie each week that is on cable and discussing it like Point Break was the other day. I've been searching through my DVR schedule and trying to find a suitable bad/good movie. Maybe everyone could do the same and find one that is on before friday. So far I've got Ricochet. Its on regular HBO on Thursday at 1:50 am and HBO Zone at 9:25 am. If you have suggestions and they are on cable this week put them here.

Would this be for discussion here or hopeful discussion on the show?

If it's the latter, I'll pass, thanks. Let them do their own movie thing without outside involvement.

If it's the former, then Ricochet was one God awful bad movie.

there's a rant of Ron's on youtube of him bashing The Happening and that was the sole reason i went out and rented it months ago. i can't wait to hear everyone trash it on Monday. it was horrific. my favorite line is in the beginning when Marky Mark is trying to brain storm with his science class about why bees are disappearing. I've never heard more emotionless delivery than when he says something like"Come on, guys. lets figure this out" to a bunch of 15 year olds. even the look on his face looks like he's doing an impression of an actor

I was switching channels late one night this week and came across it. I watched the last 30 minutes like I was slowing down to watch a car wreck on the highway. There is no way that I'm going to watch the whole thing.

This movie screams for the MST3K treatment. And look - it exists! Now this I would watch.

I'm 22 minutes into the movie and it's fucking terrible. Andy Samberg has ruined Mark Wahlberg for me, I never noticed how singy songy his cadence is.

Whoever cast Mark Wahlberg, John Leguizamo and Zooey Deschanel (incredibly cute though) should be hung like David Carradine.

As bad as this is probably going to continue to be I'm looking forward to the discussion Monday. Novel idea!

I haven't caught up with all the shows yet, but whoever thought this would be a good movie for the fans to watch is either

1. an asshole
2. didn't know that shamalong-a-ding-dong sucks at making movies since 2000

4. hates the idea of having the fans doing something together.

Okay, I had to pause it again.

Seriously, this has to be a spoof. There is no way M. Night can be this bad. I disliked a couple of his movies but I am angry that I am watching this alone right now and I want somebody here to make fun of it with.

This is MST3K type garbage and I can't wait to view their version if I can actually make it through this backed up toilet of a film.

I watched it yesterday afternoon.

I had never even wanted to see it (this tested my love for R&F).

Horrible, just horrible.

I couldn't wait for John Leguizamo to kill himself (it was either me or him).

His math teacher "character" was so fucking obnoxious and clichéd.

He just kept reminding everyone he was a MATH TEACHER by bringing up percentages and "story problems".

Holy Shit. He made Mark Wahlberg seem believable.

This film wasn't even fun viewing on a "Mock and Laugh" level.

If you think scientifically douche bag than you would say that trees can't communicate with other inanimate objects and then stop making the movie. Unless of course you are a whore or have extraordinarily bad reasoning skills as a science teacher - "science will come up with some reason to put in the books, but in the end it'll be just a theory". Yet another example of the "science cannot explain things so there must be a supernatural explanation" way of thinking. Bravo m'night. This did not take me out of the movie thank god.

i watched this movie for the first time about 2 weeks ago. i'm kinda glad i didn't see it when i was younger because i don't think i would have appreciated the film as much as now.

billy bob was amazing in that role. mmm hmmm.

the thing that really got to me was how shitty karl's life really was when he was just a boy. totally neglected by his father and it being just slightly better with his mother until the use of the sling blade, but i always called it a kaiser blade. and with the story about how he had to bury his little brother, it almost brought me to tears.

Iwould have fucking hated this movie if i watched it when I was younger. I watched itfor the first time a few months ago and I loved it.

the story about the little brother was so fucking shocking i had to rewind it to make sure I understood what was going on

That's a pretty good line up.

I've seen them all, but if I was marathoning it...I'd sit through all of them and enjoy 'em.

Better than I remembered. I remember thinking that Karl spoke too well for a retard but I think I was wrong ( in general). I think it will be considered a good first film rather than one of the great films. The writing is good, the directing not particularly interesting. Its always great to see a new voice seemingly come from out of nowhere and I think that is why Slingblade will be remembered - if someone had said a guy named billy bob thornton would write, direct and star in his own movie it sounds unlikely. Slingblade was not exactly innovative even in this respect though. Clerks and Sex Lies and Videotape, Reservoir Dogs and of course Madea's Family Reunion were films we had never seen before. But we have been watching retards who hurt people forever. So then the question is is impersonating a retard acting? It seems like portraying emotion is what makes an interesting or affecting performance. Crying because you feel bad for the waterhead does not count.

it's been so long since i have watched Sling Blade.

i forgot all about the little intricacies ... the mini-romance with Karl and the dollar store lady and the fact that billy bob put glass in his shoes to make his walking more exaggerated and awkward.

One of my favorite parts was the Girl Slingblade.

When I checked last night, there was a showing at around 2:30 tomorrow.

I went and dug up an old sig for the occasion.

Does Starz play their movies in widescreen. I attempted to watch a movie last night on Starz, but it was fullscreen, so I turned it off.

Halftime of the US soccer game, so I checked Starz. Fucking fullscreen, I hate fullscreen movies. Unfortunately my cable company doesn't have Starz HD.

I'll probably break out the DVD tonight.

I have never seen Speed. I've been a movie snob for so long that I never allowed myself to watch it.
I don't have Cinemax (not a fan of channels that don't play movies in their OAR). I did however call my brother to see if he owns the DVD and sure enough he does, so I will be borrowing it from him this weekend and watching it.

No, they just didn't have time with having 2 in-studio guests for the last half of the show.

Poor Ronnie, this could've been the week to discuss The Pope of Greenwich Village as it's airing on Flix this weekend.
