We have been saving a $48 375 ml bottle of Ice Wine, from the Wollersheim Winery in Wisconsin, for a special occasion. I feel like we have no special occasion to celebrate in the near future. I am sick of seeing it in the fridge just begging to be opened.

I am going to open it right now.....don't try to stop me.

I haven't opened it yet cause it has some weird coating on the top. I can't figure it out. Damn...I guess it will be a Captain Diet for me. Man, I feel like getting bombed tonight.

No, I remember.

But I never said I wasn't coming.

I just said it would be very cold and full of old people.

Sounds like a typical family get together.

If you do ever try it, let us know what it was like. I heard good things. Is it suppose to be stored in the fridge? I see it in the store on the shelf.

it's his advanced age... THEY get that way over 40

I had ice wine and don't enjoy it much... it is too sweet for my taste and drinking it from a plastic cup in bed probably did not add to the experience...

Oh and yeah, get a sharp knife to remove the wax and then open the cork.
Better yet, those wine fopil cutters work well for it.

all white wines are on the shelf... better ones get stored in the back of the store in a cooled wine room.
Most white wines are supposed to be served chilled.

I tried the ice wine at the winery. The first taste of it I didn't like. It was too syrupy. The after taste was great. I guess you are only drink a tiny amount, like a shot glass worth.

Ice wine is so good. Have you ever had Cider Ice Wine? Honestly it's like the best thing on the planet. Imagine drinking a glass full of ice cold hard cider with fizzies. When I first moved to Canada I drank a barrel full I swear.

55 degrees. Put it in the frig and it muddles the taste.

here is a tip
to get wines at the
right temperature for drinking

do refridgerate white wine
but take it out of the fridge
20 minutes before serving
brings the temp up just enough

do not refridgerate red wine
but do put it in the fridge
for 20 minutes before serving
brings the temp down just enough
