I have to say that there's a lot of music that hit me emotionally last year. Mostly, I like songs that make me think or give me a natural high.

I pick Incubus for the most moving album I hear last year. My brother got the nas album for christmas and that album is hot as hell.

Both these albums are pure poetry in my opinion. I feel like i'm in another place when I listen to them

Tenacious D had ...the power to move you. (Oh like I'm the only one who thought it)

Well, "F Her Gently" is definately a moving song in more ways than one...

Michelle Branch - "The Spirit Room". She's incredibly talented, at a young age. My only hope is that enough people realize that, in a world of premanufactured Britneys, Michelle is the real deal (an honest to god singer / songwriter? Alive, in these times???).

Coldplay - "Parachutes". This is sort of a 2000 album, but all year long, it hasn't left my CD player for any long stretch of time. It's one of my favorite albums of the past few *years*, and I think they'll be the next "big thing" here in the states (sort of like Radiohead).

Also, Incubus' "Morning View" and Tool's "Lateralus". Although I wasn't so much moved by either album, rather I just enjoyed them both immensely. Both acts are great (Tool is tied with NiN as my favorite band of all time), and both give tremendous live shows.

Ok, maybe it's not "moving" but definitely my favorite album of the year is Disturbed, "The Sickness".

Yeah Coldplay! I'm a guy, so I try not to cry, but I felt all oogey when I saw the video for Trouble. I was like "Why is my face leaking? What is this strange emotion?"

And the strange thing about System of a Down is you know they're talking about 18 different things at the same time that make no sense, but the way they craft it all together is just insane!

Black Crowes Lions ...now that album kicks ass. I would put on "Soul Singing" whenever I would feel down, soooo I guess that album is the one that moved me...

Yeah, Bjork is my guilty pleasure. I love her songs even when I can't quite understand what she's saying.

Richie Hawtin - DE9:Closer to the edit

not many people would really call it "moving" - it's kind of a techno snob thing. Some people get it - most people don't.

Pete Yorn was STRONG this past year. His album was great, and he does a fantastic live performance. I saw him here in D.C. at the 9:30 Club, and it was awesome.
