I know we have some golfers on this board, so.

Im thinkin of picking up a new driver, but im one who is of the opinion that you should have to learn how to hit a ball to fix your mistakes, rather than having tools to change your club.

So anyone know any good drivers out there now for like 200 bucks at most that DONT have all these fuckin weights and screws and adjustable nonsense in them? I have a Taylormade driver now but its old and the shaft is startin to get loose and it doesnt put alot into the ball. Yea and I either want 9 or 9.5 loft

i hate that bull shit with the weights,i had a golden bear i was constantly adjusting. I bought an oversized MAC ATTACK 10.5 titanium matrix for 40 bucks that im in love with. its 3 golf balls by 2 golf balls and i can swing as hard as i want with it and not worry too much about control,i highly recommend it for the price for distance and accuracy

I just picked up the taylor made r7 draw driver. It does have a heel weight in it, but its a non adjustable, no nonsense driver. And it is under 200. Give that a spin

My driver is from almost 6 years ago. A Taylormade R5. Works great, if only I could be more consistent with it.

My irons are like 11 years old and are just fine. Putter is about 5 years old too.

Your best bet on a driver, or any clubs for that matter would be to go to a shop that carries many brands and put down a small deposit and borrow a few drivers. Take them to the range and hit off the grass with a tee not the fake plastic greens with the rubber tee.

This will give you real life play of each driver and you can see what works and what doesn't.

once you narrow your options, hit your loacal dealer- you can buy some GREAT used equipment , pennies on the dollar, and then get it regriped.

doesnt matter about driving. If you can't putt then just give it up.

yea but its a draw driver. I dont want a driver geared toward a certain swing. I want a standard, flat driver that I control the type of swing I want. Not the club

It has a slight draw correction. Its not a cure driver. Personally I notice nothing. You can play shit with any club. But it does correct the ball slightly from going right with the heel weight

Then go with the Taylormade R50. Because it's five years old it should be fairly cheap.

Online i found a taylormade 07 burner, a nike 07 sasquatch (not the gay square head either), and a Calloway 07 big bertha. All are new, all are 460cc and all are nuetral drivers. Al are also 149.99 where I found them, so any of you have any suggestions about which is better?

Burner or Bertha, I did not like the Nike.

Either way, they are all three nice clubs, you probably won't go wrong.

See if there is a range or store with indoor range where you can hit them before buying.

its an online store. I may go head to golf galaxy and try but they are all 2 year old models, so they may not have them anymore and any actual stores. Though im not too worried because i never had a problem with any taylor mades i hit, my irons are taylor made. Also any callaways ive hit have also felt fine. Ive never hit nike woods but i do like the feel of their irons so im sure its a decent club too. Im leaning right now toward the bertha but im still debating the burner cause I have enjoyed taylormades

I recently started to play a Taylormade R7 draw driver. Its not mine, its my cousin, but it "somehow" made it way into my bag. I really like it.

Snoogans I don't think you will go wrong with any three of the other clubs you found. I personally like my Taylormade drivers, but I do play nike irons and love them and their feel. I'd probably go the Burner route

yea i think im with that, too. I have RAC irons and I love em, and I have the lowest model driver and its like 6 years old and its still not that bad. Shaft just isnt snapping like it used to.

Im probably gonna go with the burner just cause I know I like their clubs. I was surprised to see them new for that price so im really happy about it. Im gonna check tomorrow if any stores have any of these models for demo, just incase the bertha surprises me. I doubt if Ill even give anymore thought to the Nike though. I love their stuff, but not so much for golf, from what ive hit in the past, sans the combo irons.

Thanks, peeps

wasnt that the club you said you didnt want cuz of the adjusting? i hate those kinds of clubs, after a few hits the weights move and you have to turn the screws, takes your mind off of the placement and makes you worry about the fade or slice. give us a report after playing 2 rounds

no thats the R7 and R9. The Burner is the Neutral Driver. The silver one with the big B on the bottom. I will NEVER use a shot correcting driver. LEARN HOW TO SWING RIGHT, FAGS

I use the 460 Big Bertha. It is a great club. You can shape your shots(theoretically)unlike those fucking square head models.I bought mine new when they first came out and have never even thought of replacing it.I hit this club better than anything else in the bag.
