DeathMetalMoe has said in another thread that he saw a kid skateboarding at 1am; he thinks he should go to bed. I don't think punk needs to. In Summer, it seems that time is irrelevant to what you are doing. Right now, I feel I could go swimming in the ocean, or get a pick up game of baseball going. It's past 1:30 AM, and I feel like it's only 5 PM - and this tends to be the same for me every summer, and for no other season. All of life's activities almost seem endless in summer - it's great.
Time just doesn't matter in summer.

In summer, you can do whatever you want. That's part of the fun of it.

The days between school truly seem endless. Swimming, sleepovers, carnivals, manhunt, night wiffleball games. Without having to worry about sleep. Fucking greatest.
I don't know if its late enough for this kid to be done with school though.

even kids can stay up later than normal just to catch fire flies.

I went to summer camp after 6th and 7th grades. The same absolutely beautiful girl was there both years. The second year, she wore a white one piece swimming suit that (when wet) gave us all our first view of hot girl pubes. Trust me... Summer camp can have long lasting, fond memories for a kid. Just don't expect him to tell you the truth when you ask him what he liked best about his camp experience.

Thanks. Actually that's reassuring - including the pubes.
I suspect he'll tell me what he wants to like you said.
I still don't like letting my kids outta my sight.
Just me. I'll get over it.

I never understood why I had a bedtime during the summer. Now I do. My daughter & I sleep in to the last possible minute before we have to get up, get ready, and race out the door to take her to daycare and get my ass to work on time. I barely make it to work in the morning. My 5 yr old will gladly stay up till midnight every night but likes to sleep in till noon.

It's the first place I ever heard uncensored Richard Pryor tapes. Fucking awesome!

Summers are the best! I don't even have a job anymore, but I still appreciate summer.
The excitement of just being able to sit outside all night on our deck with friends and family just makes me happy. Yea Summer!!!
I went to camp once. It was girl scout camp! Yuck, all we had to do was work!
