Yeah...that happens to me all the time, now that I have a girlfriend. I think the "forbidden fruit" theory is part of it. But, another reason may be that guys who already have girls tend to be more confident...women can smell desperation a mile away.

I think that "Seinfeld" had it right. The episode where George was showing the picture of Jerry's "Man Hands" Girlfriend as his own "ex" and therefore being seen as "accepted into the group". If you're not accepted by one of the opposite sex, it implies that something is wrong with you.

I think thats kinda true, when im approached by a single guy I always have to question 'whats wrong with him thata he doesnt have a girlfriend?' Guys will go out with almost anything though.

sorry to bring up an old thread, but I find this kind of annoying.

by this logic, once a guy gets dumped, thats it. He's now alone forever. I will admit, I'm a really lonely guy, I'll admit that, but I am not desperate, and I do have standards, but theres absolutely no way of convincing anyone else of that...

oh well, whatever. I can't change the way people think...
