Can anyone explain (this seems futile) why Jason Ellis is played more (during "prime time") on Saturday than Ron and Fez?
He has a 7-9pm block...and then he's on again at 1am!
I'm not a fan, but regardless...Ron and Fez are getting short-changed on the weekend, and this sort of programing decision makes no sense to me.
Is anyone else discombobulated by the lack of R&F replays on the weekend?
They're the SOUL of the channel, God damnit!!
They work hard to give us new shows (even when there are conflicts)...and they're repaid by Sirius by allowing the best radio show in the universe to bleed out into the ether.
Jason Ellis is NOT the future of radio. He's a shock jock of the past with a NEW accent.

Couldn't agree more. Not only that but I believe Jason Ellis is also aired on another channel. I was an XM subscriber for about 4 years, and this new format pushed me to cancel.
I will admit Ellis made me laugh a few times in the beginning, but after a few listens he quickly got old- too one-dimensional for my taste.

He's on "Faction" everyday.
It certainly gets old after the "culture shock (jock)" wears off.

They were with Sirius before our boys come over. Just more Nepotism on the part of TPTB.

Jason Ellis has pictures on Bladder and Cross.
Opie gave him some good pub when he first started so I figured he was behind it but now Op throws in a "but there is some guy we dont know on our channel."
Ellis' best of gets more pub than the Saturday Night Virus.
Was there even a live SNV show tonight?

below is straight from the XM website, describing what is on the Virus the weekend,
as you can see the buddays are just considered a minor afterthought.
OPIE & ANTHONY SHOW RUNDOWN
We talk about breast reductions.
We have another update on the topless coffee shop that burned down last week.
Apple announces a new version of the iPhone.
Jim's computer battery explodes.
Opie goes to see The Hangover.
We listen to Bill Burr's set from The Tonight Show last night.
We listen to a crazy guy talk about a girl who broke up with him.
A Yankee fan tries to plant grass at Fenway Park.
We check out a few pedophile news stories.
We listen to some of Anthony's favorite music.
John Sterling has another terrible homerun call.
A we watch videos of people being electrocuted by accident.
Not Necessarily The Best of Jason Elllis
Saturday, June 13 at 7 - 9 pm ET
When he's not busy hobnobbing with countless celebrity friends at events like the 2009 MTV Movie Awards, Jason Ellis still finds time to keep it real on the radio. This week on Not Necessarily the Best of The Jason Ellis Show: New intern Wartcock continues to reveal how he earned his nickname, sidekick Rawdog continues to prove why he's the awesomest/lamest guy who ever graced a microphone, and The Future takes a couple of kicks...live...on air...from the scariest MMA fighter in the world today, Fedor Emelianenko!
Ron and Fez
Weekdays 11 am and Midnight ET
Ron and Fez join the antics on The VIRUS. These two comics jump on the air right after Opie & Anthony and deliver non-stop laughter each weekday afternoon.

Why should Sirius be any different...

I actually enjoy listening to Jason Ellis stuff that I haven't heard as opposed to the same 5 hour block of shitty O&A replays being played 3 times in two days (The back to back replay on Saturday is bullshit crazy). But it still sucks to not hear R&F on the weekend. I work Fri-Mon, and Sat. and Sun. were the days that I could hear some of the shows that I missed during the week. I'm starting to look at a good FM modulator for my Zune as an alternative to the XM unit in my work vehicle. Weighing options: One time purchase of $50-100 and timeshifted replays of R&F to my heart's content, versus monthly reaming of however much it is these days and hearing the same horseshit that I don't want to listen to anymore four times in one week. The Zune option will certainly be good for my blood pressure. :furious:

I've ben fuming over this.First,I kind of like Jason Ellis.I do listen to his show in the afternoons.I like O&A alright but I keep my subscription basically because of the buddies.I drive all of the time so I'm not one of those people who threatens to cancel my sub all of the time.Satelite radio is a neccessity for me.
Someone is taking a dump all over R&F.I don't know if it's O&A or the execs but thwy, and we,are being done wrong. For example,I used to be able to miss the first hour of the show and then catch it at midnight. Now they haved pushed the replay back to 1a.m.I used to be able to miss a show and catch back up on the weekend. No more.
I do appreciate the fact that we now get a four hour show every day and I am thankful for that.I just don't get why they would make the show so hard to listen to and pretty much prevent the fan base from growing.
Most people work from 11-3 and hardly anyone is up from 1-5.The weekend replays were a fantastic way,not only for fans to catch up,but for new people to stumble onto the show.
I also am pissed that there has to be two complete O&A replays before one R&F.Christ, who's ego dictates this schedule?

The one really shitty thing about Ellis being on the Virus is that Faction is a commercial free station. So it doesn't make alot of sense to try and shift listeners to that station by cross promoting, you already have their subscriber money and if Ellis picks up extra listeners you cant translate that into any kind of advertising revenue. It makes a lot more sense to me to play worst of O & A on Faction and Best of R & F or unmasked on one of the comedy stations.
I can't believe you guys don't dig Jason Ellis!
He's so extreme maaaaaaaaan!!!

If you look up Steve Blatter's bio it shows at sirius he alone cooked up the concept of punk/rap format, launched faction, targeting X-games viewers and then launched the Jason Ellis show with appearances by tony hawk.
After the merger he's now in charge of all programming and he's using his power to favor the shitty programming he cooked up before his promotion. he's kissing karmazin ass trying to prove he's bringing in a whole new demo.
Look at this douchbag:

I can't imagine Ron has to sit there and take orders from him. Play more hits.

8 hours a day is 'short changed'?
I could do without Jason Ellis, but 8 hours a day doesn't mean they're being disrespected. If you were a real fan, you'd get an Inno and not have to rely on replays.

I have tried to listen to Jason Ellis but his show absolutely sucks.
I had hoped that he would have been better then when Opie had him on the morning show fellating him that he might be a bit different away from the arse kisser.
I was wrong. He is even worse.
I want more Sam & Dave on Saturday night.
Let Jason and Opie go start the "Who's the biggest tough guy" show. Yeah we get it, your both extreme... whatever.
More Sam and Dave on Saturday's

i haven't listened to Jason Ellis but the commercials make it seem like the worst show ever created. I was in my car yesterday and when i saw Jason Ellis was on I immediately turned it off for "Little Stevie's Underground Garage"
I genuinely don't know if the show is good or not, but the commercials are so fucking awful that I already hate it

Underground Garage is the only music station that's worth a damn anymore. XM used to be a beautiful thing, and now it's all garbage.

BTW, Ron's rant the other day about tired songs and radio formats was spot on. Satellite radio's original appeal was the ability to hear music ignored on commercial radio. These days it's become so diluted it's really no different than terrestrial radio. The 90's alternative channel is a perfect example - you'd swear there were no other bands during that era than the Chili Peppers, Foo Fighters, and Pearl Jam. The 80's alternative channel is no better - nothing but the obvious songs that are too commercial for MTV's 120 Minutes. And why does Deep Tracks now play the "main" tracks. Even Underground Garage is not what it was a year ago.

8 hours a day is when the other show on the channel gets 16 despite being only an hour longer. And before the 4 hour show it as 18 hour to 6 hours per day. To me Ron and Fez being on the air half as much as O&A is disrespectful.

Especially given the time slots - yesterday the only time R&F were on was late at night. I really don't need to hear the Hammer interview multiple times in one day.

Jason Ellis' contract is up next month.I'm thinking maybe they are trying him out on 202 in order to possibly put some variety on.
Of course if this happens I'm sure O&A won't be willing to give up one of their replays so it will probably mean one R&F show per day.
