The past 2 or 3 days Ive been sucked into watching these crazy UFO Hunter shows from History Channel. Most of the time they just suck you in with all this great shit that ends up being nothing great by the end of the show, but some of the shit ends up kind of interesting, if not really fuckin confusing.
Anyway I decided to take it to you loons here. What do you think. You believe in Aliens, and if so, why and what do you think they do here. If not, why.
Personally, I would think its pretty impossible for there not to be, but whether or not they contact us, I have no fuckin idea. Im sure this could get interesting

I agree that with the vastness of our universe, it seems highly likely that similar conditions to those on Earth exist elsewhere and would accommodate life.

I dont know why so much either. Ive always liked astronomy and shit. I used to love going to planetariums and they used to bring that mobile one too my school. I always loved sky and space type shit.
The shows also make me laugh, and some of the shit is interesting and facts. Its just the spin cycle at the end that can get nuts. I actually really enjoy watchin the shows though.
I think it has to do with the fact that certain things also seem to make sense from what I know from science. Science and History were the only 2 subjects I really wanted to like learn past where school forced you to get. I always liked physics class and all the shit about Earth's physics and magnetic energy grid and shit.
I think part of me, and to a point all people, kinda want it to be true also, to explain things that have happened and dont make sense. Like all the ancient structures that were impossible to build but were built. Its almost like hoping for some reason for that type of shit I guess.

the thing that fucks with me there is look from 1909 to 2009 what we have gotten to. If some civilization had 100 year head start on us, who fuckin knows what they could do. Or even more of a start. In our little amount of time we can send manned and unmanned crafts pretty fuckin far. In 100 years from now im sure we can get them at least twice as far. Maybe more. Who fuckin knows.

Thats what I think draws me to it. Would it be so hard to believe that some other life started before us, and would it be so hard to think one started after?
I heard shit about how they found water on Mars and other things that can support life. We can observe planets outside our solar system now. In 100 years we will prob be able to at least send some unmanned aircraft out of our solar system.
Sometimes I think maybe its basically Humans who started before us on another planet and wasted the planet like we are, and had to find a way to go live off another planet or in big air cities. Same shit we are startin to look into figuring out if we can do for when we have to

Did you ever read that shit about that "time traveler" who was supposedly posting on that messageboard? John Titor i think it was. In his shit he actually said "UFO Sightings" we just people seeing the re entry disturbance made by time machines. Thats similar to think thinkin of a group of people on another planet that just started earlier. So time travel could make sense, and we basically figured out that its possible to do, whether or not we could survive it who knows.
I could accept that if it were the case. It would also explain the need for them to keep an eye on what we are doin to make sure we dont fuck it up.

They did a 2 hour special on history channel. i think its just called Ancient Aliens, its on youtube in parts. They show alot of the drawings of planes and other things. Sky fire fights and just shit they couldnt have known about.
Also during the Vietnam War. We had aid planes that landed near a local native trive that never really saw that shit before. We gave them food and shit, and then left. They actually built planes out of straw and sticks thinkin we were gods that came and gave them shit and they were tryin to get us to come back. I comepletely agree, in fact see above. I think the 2 are actually intertwined and most of what people thought of as Gods were actually just people from more advanced civilizations that showed up here. And possibly showed some of the cultures maybe how to build some of that shit. or where to build it. Or all the shit the Mayans knew about time and space..

The signals we sent out will eventually reach the far expanses of universe as they are traveling at the speed of light in a frictionless environment. I don't know if the energy is available anywhere in the universe to physically reach the locations beyond our signals. Something massive enough to reach those locations would take so long to get there that no being could live long enough to return with their findings.

i think it is pretty insane to think that is not some type of carbon based life forms somewhere in the universe. there is just way to many planents and stars out there.
at the same time, depending on conditions, i am sure they have evolved so much different then us, that they would never have a need to come here. if you are smart enough as a society to interstellar travel, you do not need to travel 500 million light years just to mine a small planet for iron ore. you at that point should be able to synthesize anything you need, and the cost to come here and take shit would be cost prohibitive.

Unless they have the same curiosity that we have about other life forms. I think it is safe to assume that if they are capable of interstellar travel, that they have also evolved human-like emotions and concepts that would cause them to wonder about life on other planets.

its actually not iron ore. Also, alot of it is based on going between dimensions, similar to time travel, rather than actually covering distances. Also, most likely, this is what they would be interested in, and this would apply whether its Aliens or future Humans time traveling, this would be important to either:
http://rahelio.homestead.com/files/worldgrid.jpg
Thats the magnetic energy grid and energy vortexes for earth. That would be necc to the theories of time travel right now. Also, alot of those intersecting spots and lines run through some interesting spots. Most likely that would be the cause for any visits.

And now they can do it. Shit we wonder and we cant find out. Does anyone really think that once we are able to find out, we arent gonna go look? FUCK YEA we are gonna go look. Thats what the whole fuckin point of learning about space and going there is for. To find out what the fuck is there.

So how bout this too. Assuming its not time travelers, which you really do have to consider being we are basically TRYING to do it. But assume UFO's do come here. Being alot of the sightings are along the lines of energy of our planet, maybe its like a gas station to them. Maybe they fly around and as they lose energy they stop by whatever the next planet that gives off that kind of magnetic energy field and vortex because that somehow repowers the craft.
We just happen to be one of those planets along the way. They come in, fly over the intersections and along the lines of the grid, grab some power from the earth, and head off.

The magnetic fluctuations in those intersections is real but negligible. The only reason we have a magnetic field is because of our iron core, which most other planets have as well.

negligible to us. But it isnt that long relatively we have known about them. So we dont know what real forces they may have or how to use them. In a few hundred years we might. And one of the intersections that has the largest amount of lines of energy intersection is the Bermuda Triangle

We have a pretty good grasp on electromagnetism and how to use and quantify magnetic fields.
The Bermuda Triangle is a source of many missing ships but it is also one of the busiest ocean areas in the world so it makes sense that more ships would go missing there just like more accidents happen in busy traffic areas.

thats the beauty of this whole thing. And why I started this thread.
I think the biggest thing is what people WANT to think. Anyone with an open mind to it, you can easily find tons of shit to support it, and vice versa.
I guess i just cant believe, based on where we have come to, that we wont get to a point where we can go to other planets and check shit out. So I cant say some other planet's civilization cant do it.
Also, maybe we do have a pretty good grasp on all that. We have a pretty good grasp on flying too, it doesnt mean we wont keep improving how we do it. Maybe we find some new mix of elements that reacts differently than we ever knew. Its happened throughout history.

I hope you are right, that we do develop our technology to the point that we are able to visit other planets. However, the cost of space travel has gotten so expensive that the government is pulling out most of its resources in the next few years. Thankfully, there are private enterprises investing money in space travel both locally (moon and back) and afar.

What a bunch of rookies. They aren't from a distant galaxy, they are from the future.
Here's a premise that I tried to write a story about when I was pretending to be creative years ago. Let it be known that this is not my belief, just something that I thought could explain the phenomenon in a fun way:
Aliens are humans from the future. The reason why they look so different and so weak is from generations and generations of evolution in the direction we are going (Increasingly indoor lifestyle=pale skin, lack of muscle tone and large head=evolving from "primate" lifestyle to "computer nerd" lifestyle). In their time, there is something horribly wrong with their health, some kind of virus that has embedded in the actual genes of humanity. They have tracked the initial vector of the virus to a short period in human history, which happens to be now. They've had to travel to various times in history to do tests, hence the supposed sightings throughout human history. They discovered that the "virus" was introduced into the population through prions contained in the food supply, and narrowed down the main vector as commercial cattle. After extensive biopsies and necropsies on various samples of our meat supply (cattle mutilations), they narrowed the main outbreak to the 90's......
I never got that far with it.

The thing is, it may be that faster-than-light travel is impossible, meaning that getting out to another inhabited planet, which would be at least 5-10 light years away, isn't going to happen.
My belief is this: I do believe that, given the almost infinite number of stars and planets out there, that life does exist elsewhere in the universe, and that it's probably evolved to intelligence. So, yes, there are aliens out there.
But the thing is, I don't think they're so different from us. I think that there's a planet about 500 light years away or so where people are posting to a message board for a show called Zaxro & Wharrt about whether or not there are aliens elsewhere in the universe. They're insect-like creatures with antennae and exoskeletons, but, basically, they're doing the same shit that you're doing right now.
That depresses me more than thinking that there's some super-evil alien race that will invade this planet and make us their slaves.
Even if light-speed travel is impossible, there may be other ways to navigate the galaxy - "wormholes" and the like.
Or perhaps traveling at half the speed of light is possible for an advanced race. The nearest star to Earth is a little over 4 light years away. At that pace they could make it here in 8 years. Not terribly unlikely. And of course time is completely subjective. 8 years wouldn't seem like 8 years at all to them while they're in space and moving at such a speed.
Who the fuck knows?

Again with the faster than light travel. Its not about that if you are talkin parallel universes and shit. And like Gvac said, wormholes and shit. We can already make shit happen that is the very beginning, in theory, of actually doin that, so.
If I had to guess, I'd say its probably just future time travelers or something. But I like my magnetic energy gas station idea. So I'm gonna stick with that

but i dont think that they have to be living on an earth like planet and need what humans and other animals on this planet need to survive
maybe on some disntant planet they dont need water like us, maybe some other liquid is their water and all the life on that planet needs that liquid like we need water
and who the hell knows what theyll look like, i dont think they'll look human at all, 2 arms, legs, eyes, etc. they'll rob look like something we cant even comprehend of

I've been seriously thinking about buying a telescope for some time now. I regularly pull out my binoculars to look at various constellations and stars, as well as when planets are visible. There's only so much you can see, though.
I'm not looking for a top notch model, just something I can see Saturn's rings with, or the big red spot on Jupiter.
Who knows? Maybe I'll discover a comet or something.

Palisades Interstate Parkway. Its a small highway that runs along the hudson river on top of the cliffs on the west side. it has a few lookout spots where you can park and walk onto the cliffs basically. From the edge the river is prob 6-700 feet away but you can see the whole sky, not too many ground lights, and you can see for miles and miles up the river valley. Its actually pretty fuckin cool

Since I dont know the names of all the spots, the easiest way to do it is go to the first lookout lot on the north side that you see in NY. So im gonna get on the PIP south, pass into Jersey, make a u turn and stop at the first lookout lot. Whatever one that is is where anyone who wants to should go. Or PM me to figure it out
This is gonna be fun.
Staring at the sky on the summer solstice.
I hope it's a clear night.
For all of you who always say you're too broke to hang out at the bar nights, there's no excuse for not coming next weekend. Totally FREE!

Rockefeller Lookout
Northbound Palisades Interstate Parkway (about 1 mi. north of Exit 1)
Englewood Cliffs, NJ 07632

Site Description
A pull-off overlook with scenic views of the Hudson River, northern Manhattan, Spuyten Duyvil, and the southern Bronx. Named in honor of John D. Rockefeller Jr. for his role in preserving the the lands on the summit of the Palisades and creating the Palisades Interstate Parkway.
I was gonna do it at state line but its a real park so they may close gates. Rockerfeller is just a pull off lot on the right like a rest area with no buildings. so its always open

It'll be late so you can bring a cooler but dont be too nuts about it for anyone who comes cause cops do stop in there sometimes. They wont really ever kick you out though

This aired on the History Channel last night and I cannot recommend it enough if you like the UFO stories. Although these aren't stories. The evidence they present through credible witnesses is unbelievable. It'll leave you with no doubt that there are some strange objects flying around and checking us out - but who they are, no one can answer.

No answers yet for calf mutilations near San Luis (http://www.chieftain.com/articles/2009/11/26/news/local/doc4b0e0598ecb82177925756.txt)
A string of calf mutilations earlier this month have left a local rancher and law enforcement scratching their heads.
Rancher Manuel Sanchez has had four calves mutilated over a three-week span in a pasture he leases near Los Vallejos, just southeast of here, with the most recent victim coming on Nov. 16.
In each case, Sanchez found his calves with skin peeled back and organs cleaned out from the rib cage.
He found no signs of human attackers such as ATV tracks or footprints in the pasture that's guarded by two locked gates.
Nor did he find any evidence of animal predators such as a coyote or a mountain lion. There were no blood pools near the animals, or drag marks on the ground. "There's nothing really to go by," said Sanchez, who's ranched for nearly 50 years. "I can't figure it out."

Here's the best part of this story, the comments and when people quote respond to the comments.
Sandra wrote: "Sounds to me like it's time to keep someone with the cattle at all times to keep an eye on them. And set up some cameras.
The response:
It's already been tried.
The watcher will be hypnotized into a deep sleep and the cameras and recorders will all malfunction mysteriously.
You only get to see them if they want you to.
Space alien cattle rustlers who are capable of interstellar and/or multidimensional travel are not going to get caught by some ignorant sheriff's deputy or strung up at a necktie party by local ranchers.

Actually, our signals do not travel out forever. In fact, they don't get very far at all before disintegrating, so all that talk about aliens watching I Love Lucy is just a urban (or would that be cosmic?) myth.

Borghezio hopes this will result in the establishment of a European UFO commission. According to the text of the June 14 declaration, "Many members of the scientific community have been looking into the issue of UFOs and have denounced the systematic covering-up of information on the subject. ... a study of the material collected by the governments of all the member states would have major scientific and technological spinoffs." Former military officers to speak out in Washington on UFOs that disabled nukes (http://www.reuters.com/article/idUS166901+15-Sep-2010+PRN20100915)
For years, military officers at nuclear missile sites in America have been reporting "disk shaped" UFOs that hover near their facilities and often wreak havoc with the weapons. Now, a group of former military officers are convening at the National Press Club in Washington this Monday to give a report on their observations of UFOs, and to demand answers from the government. According to a report from AP:
One of them, ICBM launch officer Captain Robert Salas, was on duty during one missile disruption incident at Malmstrom Air Force Base and was ordered to never discuss it. Another participant, retired Col. Charles Halt, observed a disc-shaped object directing beams of light down into the RAF Bentwaters airbase in England and heard on the radio that they landed in the nuclear weapons storage area. Both men will provide stunning details about these events, and reveal how the U.S. military responded.
Captain Salas notes, "The U.S. Air Force is lying about the national security implications of unidentified aerial objects at nuclear bases and we can prove it." Col. Halt adds, "I believe that the security services of both the United States and the United Kingdom have attempted-both then and now-to subvert the significance of what occurred at RAF Bentwaters by the use of well-practiced methods of disinformation."
So... what could it have been?

i have heard alot about this. They interviews on history channel some former weapons base guard who said that a UFO stopped over a nuclear missle silo and turned everything on so they could disable the equipment. The guy said it took them like 2 weeks to fix everything and make the silo servicable again.
Im going to guess that either we, as humans, or this planet as it is has some value to aliens or some connection. If anything I would guess they know us well enough to know we arent responsible enough for those and they are probably trying to keep us from fucking everything up

Three flights from Chinese cities Beijing and Shanghai were diverted to nearby airports.
It is the THIRD mysterious UFO sighting this year to have resulted in Chinese airfields being closed. (http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/news/3165067/UFO-closes-an-airport-in-China.html)
I'm surprised they can see anything through that shitty air.

The Chinese Military R&D has been expanding rapidly. In the 90s they acquired tons of Russian plane research material and are now expanding on it. They have the resources and so they are experimenting. I think it's comparable to what the US was doing in the 60s-70s.

the aliens are makin sure china doesnt get out of hand. we must be important to them as a planet and I think they are making sure we dont fuck it up. It seems to be that in the past the UFO sightings have increases in countries that began to have big economies or step up in weapons. Russia would always get a ton, us, Asian countries now. They are making sure we dont get out of control

Former military officers to speak out in Washington on UFOs that disabled nukes (http://www.reuters.com/article/idUS166901+15-Sep-2010+PRN20100915)
So... what could it have been?

Former NORAD officer reports alien disclosure date: October 13, 2010 (http://www.examiner.com/ufo-in-national/former-norad-officer-reports-alien-disclosure-date-october-13-2010)
October 13, 2010, is the disclosure date where mankind will have no doubt that aliens are among us, according to a book by a former NORAD officer.
Retired Air Force Officer Stanley A. Fulham released the third edition of his 352-page book, Challenges of Change, which suggests that on October 13 there will be "a massive UFO display over the world's principal cities."
The author predicts that the "aliens will neither land nor communicate on that date; they are aware from eons of experience with other planets in similar conditions their sudden intervention would cause fear and panic."

i got work wednesday night til like 8-830, but if anyone is seriously up for it, ill head down for a couple hours for old times sake and some UFOs.
However, I had a better idea. The city is too bright, too many buildings. We should find a nice dark place in jersey with a view of the sky over NYC. Maybe like those cliff lookout spots along Rt 9 in Apline or englewood cliffs or whatever. Bring some beers, whatever else we need, go there, and watch the happenings

The book "reports this event will be the initial interaction in a process leading to mankind's acceptance of the alien reality and technologies for the removal of poisonous gases from the earth's atmosphere in 2015, if not sooner."
Why not just come here wednesday and extract the poisonous gasses from the air. Im pretty sure if they did that, Humans would have no problem accepting them

A new report circulating in the Kremlin today prepared for President Medvedev by Russian Space Forces (VKS) 45th Division of Space Control says that an upcoming WikiLeaks release of secret US cables details that the Americans have been “engaged” since 2004 in a “war” against UFO’s based on or near the Continent of Antarctica, particularly the Southern Ocean.
This report goes on to state that after WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange warned last week that he would begin releasing secret US cables relating to these Southern Ocean UFO’s, and the Americans “war” against them, he was immediately arrested by British Police on trumped up charges issued by the Swedish government which in our December 8th report, Global Rebellion Erupts After “Unprotected Sex Meets Disrobed Governments”, we noted were engineered against him as a “classic” CIA “Honey Trap”.

I can't wait to hear Rush Limbaugh's rant about Obama lying again. He'll have to support the notion that there is an alien base on the dark side of the moon.
He is the alien with all the hillbilly heroin he takes.

I'm sure there is a rational explaination for this.... but until we get it.... you gotta admit, this is a cool video on this link.

Well the scientist's explanation for the image as a bleeding residual does make sense, but that second video from a different angle showing the same thing kinda screws that up.
Right?
Amirite?
Jeez I hope so.

i watched it, and it never even made me think it was a UFO for one second. Most likely, it was part of the solar flair lighting up a part of mercury's magnetic field that coned out during the solar wind. it happens alot, but usually we dont get pictures of it cause it would normally happen on the far side of the closer planets, from our point of view

Also, you're forgetting the fact that Mercury is well known to be hollow and this is probably just an echo caused by gas escaping from below the surface.

Is this truly the video that UFO skeptics have been dreading? Actually, a compilation of 17-month-old video clips from a Chilean military air show is stirring up predictable responses from both sides of the UFO debate, but no dread.
For those who are inclined to believe that some unidentified flying objects exhibit characteristics beyond what our technology seems capable of, the El Bosque case could represent the latest, greatest evidence for flying saucers.
"This is a very, very unusual case, and I'm hoping that this case will help move forward the recognition that there really is something here that's worthy of further study. ... It has the possibility of being a breakthrough case," said investigative journalist Leslie Kean, the author of the book "UFOs: Generals, Pilots and Government Officials Go On the Record."
The case goes back to an air show that was staged in November 2010, at Chile's Air Force academy, which is headquartered at the El Bosque Air Force Base in Santiago. Nothing untoward was noticed by anybody during the show itself, but Kean said an engineer at the nearby aircraft factory noticed an anomalous spot as he was sifting through video taken from the show, looking for an image that could be used as a poster photo.
The spot appeared to move quickly from frame to frame, and the engineer thought it looked enough like some sort of craft to notify the Chilean government agency in charge of investigating anomalous aerial phenomena, known by the Spanish acronym CEFAA.
The way Kean tells it, CEFAA investigators looked around for other video clips of the event and pieced together six additional views of the spot-shaped phenomena. Ricardo Bermudez, a retired Chilean Air Force general who is now CEFAA's director, told a UFO conference last month that his agency consulted with other officials, image-processing experts and "non-believer astronomers." CEFAA's conclusion was that the spots were caused by an object traveling through the scene at speeds in excess of 4,000 mph — so fast that it went unnoticed by air-show spectators.
"Humans inside this object could not survive," Kean and a co-author, former New York Times investigative reporter Ralph Blumenthal, wrote in a Huffington Post report appearing on Tuesday. "And, somehow, it made no sonic boom...

i believe in life somewhere out there, but dont know if we'll reach it my lifetime or even my daughter's lifetime. the arrogance of some religious people, if god made us what would stop him from creating more beings throughout the universe? besides, we cant get along on a message forum, how could we ever get along with beings not like ourselves?

I once had a teacher who said she saw UFOs when she went outside one night to take out the trash. It made a few precise "L" shapes very very fast and then left.

you are speaking of something, that while most likely somewhat valid, is still theoretical to us at this point, and yet you cant think of a single possible thing that would explain why they would want to contact us?
Oh like, maybe they made us as an experiment....or maybe they arent aliens, but time traveling future humans making sure we dont fuck things up. Or maybe just are curious what the fuck this new thing is they didnt know about. You cant think of anything?
