View Full Version : Summer recommendations
Summer TV blows.
I propose we utilize this thread to recommend to each other some shows and movies to rent and download while there's nothing on.
I just put the first disc of Sports Night in my Netflix queue. I vaguely remember the show when it was one...always heard it was good.

The Wire, Band of Brothers, Freaks and Geeks, Arrested Development.
These are the basics of the great series that have aired over the past decade. Anyone who hasn't seen one of them is missing out.
As for current summer TV, there isn't much. But Rescue Me is strong as ever, Weeds is watchable. Entourage starts next month, then Mad Men. So help is coming.

I would recommend a pair of binoculars.

True Blood - I think it's pretty damn good. Definitely rewatch Arrested Development - the entire series is on Hulu.com. I just finished the first season and I am now on season two.

I'm currently halfway through Freaks and Geeks, it's fantastic. Downloaded Undeclared this weekend, haven't seen it since it's original airing.

I watch True Blood and Entourage over the summer.
If youre looking to get into a series and enjoy comic books I suggest Smallville. But you have to start from the beginning and give it a chance. At least until Season 2.
If thats not your thing check out the 1st and Ten box set from HBO. Its like $20 for the entire 5 seasons. Its 80's dated but hilarious.
