Shit, i got about 3 weeks to get gifts for my groomsmen......was thinking about giving them an engraved flask, but i kinda feel like that is hokey.
Any suggestions would be helpful.
Thanks.

Everybody does the flask bit. I got my guys Philadelphia Eagles blankets with their names embroidered on them.
Im in a wedding this weekend, Ill let you know what we get.
Hmm, how about engraved Pocket watches?
At our weeding we decided to just have a maid of honor and a best man. I ended up getting him a nice bottle of Johnnie Walker Blue and a nice clay chip poker set.

That's a cool gift.
If they like golf get them a round of golf somewhere or cigars or gift cards. That's all I can think of. We didn't have a bridal party.

Yeah, but these clowns would get more use out of a flask than a pocket watch, although i would prefer the latter.
Also, there are 7 guys to buy for so i cant get tooooo crazy with price.....shoulda mentioned that in the first post.

Do they even know they're supposed to get gifts?
Some traditions are stupid, I hate thinking of what to get for this stuff.

Here's what I've seen for groomsmen gifts:
Glass beers mugs (although the groom got mugs with his college on it -- which only two of the groomsmen attended)
Initialed ties
Initialed golf club driver
Initialed golf shirts
Engraved business card carrier

A buddy of mine got his groomsmen jersyes of their favorite football team and the number on the back was the year that he met them.
I thought that was a pretty good idea.
We had special ties ordered for my wedding so we paid for those ( even though they were high quality from Vineyard Vines and could be used other times ) but we still got them a small gift.
We got them embroidered mini-beer coolers and stuffed them w/ a few beers.
Our take was that the stuff you give hardy ever gets used anyway but we still wanted to give something.

It's probably a good idea, but what guy remembers the year when they met their other guy friends?
I hardly remember what year I met the members of my immediate family.

I was gonna get jerseys but I had 9 groomsmen and it wouldve been expensive to get the ones I wanted. I wanted to get them something theyd use too and so far all of them still use the blankets.
I dont know what we are getting this week, but im 98% sure it is Phillies jerseys.

I really like the small Swiss Army Knives or the Swiss Army Cards. Both are very cool and useful.
I got the guys in my wedding party USB Thumb Drives. It might not work for every wedding party, but it was perfect for mine. You can get good drives inexpensively from microcenter.com (store brand is inexpensive but solid).

I'm in the exact same boat as you. Trying to figure out what to get everyone (I also have 7 groomsmen).
We're already giving them Ties for the wedding but I wanted to give them something they'd actually enjoy. (thats not a blowjob)

Thats what I was thinking of, but one of my groomsmen is a sports agent, the other gets free tickets from his company all the time...I may just go and find something personalized for each one of them. That might just be easier.

Rhino's brother-in-law gave everyone a bottle of their favorite booze. Us girls got ugly necklaces that we never wore again. I would've much rather had a bottle of Captain. You can have Makers Mark bottles engraved, maybe other kinds too.
Get them something they will use.
Our groomsmen gifts sucked.
If I did it over again (since I always have to think of the gift ideas) I would get the guys tickets to a concert or show or something that they could all go to together, cause it is really a Thank You gift.
I've been a groomsman or best man in about 10 weddings and I can honestly say I don't remember what gift I received from any of them.

I had four attendants - three men and a woman. I got the men sports memorabilia - the Mets fan got the Mookie/Bucker autographed pic, the Dolphins fan got a Marino autograph, the Yankees fan got this beautiful Don Mattingly signed picture, and my female attendant (that just sounds wrong) got a digital camera.
I was a little heavy-handed with the cash.

It's a shot of him in mid-swing from the waist up, so you just see his number and his bat in full-extension. It's a beautiful picture, from a sports photography aspect.

Yes, yes you were.
I'd planned on getting satin purses, earrings and barrettes for my attendants (as that's what I'd budgeted for) but you went and made it a big production, which made me feel kind of, um, cheap and one-upped.
I did personalize them to each attendant's personality, though.
For my 13-year-old cousin, I got makeup brushes, eye shadow & lip gloss, plus a plastic case for her to keep it all in and bangle bracelets instead of earrings. I also paid for her hair & makeup on the day of the wedding.
For my friend Val, I got a spa certificate (which Matty came up with) and a Disney Villians snowglobe because it had Maleficent from 'Sleeping Beauty' in her dragon-form because (1) it was pretty and (2) Val likes dragons. And a tube of M.A.C. mascara. About a month before the wedding, I took her shopping for makeup so she'd be prepared.
For my sister, I got an engraved jewelry box from TheKnot.com and a silver chain & "#1" charm. (Catherine wasn't my maid of honor. This pissed her off, not because she wanted the responsibility, but because she wanted to be "number one" ... so I got the charm at a shop in VA and had the jewelry box engraved with "for Catherine, my #1.") And a tube of M.A.C. mascara.
For my maid of honor, we'd gone out to dinner the Thursday night before (as is our long-standing tradition) and she permitted me to "torture" her with a mani/pedi the afternoon of the rehearsal (for which I owe her BIG) ... but I also got her a street-Pashmina wrap because she liked it and I was buying some for another attendant and myself. And a tube of M.A.C. mascara.
For the female groom's attendant (Matty's good friend J.) I got a purse, earrings, barrettes and Pashmina wrap, because I invited her to join us for hair/makeup on the day of the wedding, I also got her a M.A.C. mascara.
