which do you prefer, the coins worth a dollar like you get from a metrocard machine or the paper dollars.
I still prefer paper dollars, coin dollars are hell on a wallet.

I like the Dollar Coins but the only problem is when you try to buy a drink or some candy and the damn things don't fit in the slot.
Sounds like a Seinfeld episode if ever there was one.

Paper dollars, just because they're easier to unload. Like Joey said, they're hard to use in vending machines and a lot of people give you shit when you pay them with dollar coins. Are we are the only country that even has paper dollars? I know England and Canada use only coins for anything under $3.00

I prefer paper but he coins come in handy at the PATH turnstyles and at soda machines-- bills sometimes get spit back at you.

The coins are cool, but impractical, especially in large quantities. I went to the post office and need a (one) stamp, and of course only one machine sold single stamps and was BROKEN. All the other machines sold no less than books of 20 ($6.80) and the smallest bill I had was a $20 (I had sufficient change to purchase that one stamp). I didn't read the sign that said "Dollar coins issued as change" until that Jackson disappeared into the bill slot. Needless to say, in the back of my mind I was hearing a parody of "I've Got Spurs..."
Thank God I didn't trip and fall in a puddle of water, those coins would have held me down and I would have drowned!
[I got rid of the coins at the bar later that night]

POWER AND CHAOS
Having just been in Europe, I prefered dealing with coins. There is no 1 Euro Bill but they have 1 and 2 Euro Coins. I liked it better that way, though there are way too many Euro coins. They have a 2, 1, 50 cent, 20, 5, 2, and 1 cent. I don't really understand the 2 cent coin that I now have like 30 of.
Anyway, Europe just proved that switching monetary paradigms isn't that hard, and we are way smarter than them. Get rid of the pennies and bring on the coins. Vending machines will change. Trust me, it's alot easier to put in a one dollar coin than dealing with creased bills.
My 2 Euro Cents.

I told you, when Dan comes back from Europe he'll be all elite and look down on our customs. I bet he's wearing a beret now and smokes cigarettes in cigarette holders.

I'm sorry, but I gota go with the paper dollars. How much would it suck to carry aorund 40 coins in your pocket as opposed to just 2 bills? Think about it, it's impractial in many cases.
IT'S TIME TO PLAY THE GAME-AHHH!

they're not going to replace ALL of the paper notes, just the single dollars. who carries 40 singles now as opposed to 2 $20's.
I have a theory that our Gov. wants to be more "european".

I think we'd retain the $20 bill.
Although I'd prefer carrying all my dollar coins around in a sock...it could also be used for selfdefense.
