View Full Version : Elfish Nostalgia
Fugitive

I was going through some old cassettes and found one that had an Elfish WJFK appearance on it, and it made me realize how great he was.
What's up with Elfish? Is he alive? Has he ever been on the XM show? Will Elfish ever come back and sing "Suspicious Minds" karaoke or finally do his own version of "Tubthumping"?
The FUGITIVE--what's it to ya?

I love that old drunk. I remember when he was down visiting at JFK and mentioned the hotel he stayed at which was by my high school and the station and I just laughed and laughed.

Was that the Breezeway?
Wasn't he co-hosting a show on one of the metal channels? I guess that gig is over since the merger, if not before.

Yeah, he was on the The Cool Guy show on Liquid Metal. He got the axe soon after the merger.

Yes, that was it! Thank you sir! The boys gave it a good beating on the air. What a dump.

I figured. I like Elfish but couldn't bring myself to listen to that channel no matter WHO was hosting.

I think Perrynoid had a few stories about that place, too.

Very likely. BTW... Remember the test show that they aired in the first year on XM? I was surprised that they still had TL Annie on their minds so much then.

FTW!!!
that might be one of the funniest stories ever!
"Who's got the coolest ring tone?"
Didn't Elfish and Perrynoid take an underage Cigar Sid out to a bar one night and get him hammered which resulted in Sid being locked up for a DUI?
Was it at that hotel bar?

No, that was Thursdays, the bar of choice for Friday Night Lights.

I doubt it, I think only nice hotels have hotel bars.

I'm listening to it now for the first time in a few years. It's killing me. It's one of those times when Fez is so ticked off and Ron just winds him up and lets him go. So funny.

the wjfk were funny days.
does ron realize who cigar sid is when he calls in?
The DC days aren't as etched into my memory as the NYC era.
Getting an underground feed was always a hassle and I didn't listen as often.
I will admit that the DC cast of characters were wackier than any from New York.

ron seems so happy during the story, if only because of what a nightmare the trip was for Fez.
now i'm gonna have to listen to it when i get home...

The real problem was hearing the show live. There were a bunch of online feeds that were live and then subsequently shut down before CBS started streaming themselves. Trying to find the next one after one was shut down was the challenge.

That night was the inspiration for one of my favorite Perrynoid songs, Fat Baby.

That account was great. Then there was the private file sharing program. I can't remember the name of it though.

Remember when Elfish was homeless but he still wouldn't stay at Crazy Jen's? I don't know if I blame him or not.
Elfish was a glorious mess and a real highlight of the JFK era - loved the football bets on XM leading to the Graceland trip. Hysterical story, but having met the guy, I felt so bad for Fezzie because I knew how close to the truth that all must have been.

I'm not sure if Elfish was riding shot gun that night, but he might have been. GREAT story and inspiration for the "Fat Baby" song
Fat Baby was an underage alcoholic...
I actually thought the radio friendly version was better than the unrated version.
I was surprised that they still had TL Annie on their minds so much then.
Even though the test shows aired for the first time in November of 2005, they were done (I believe) in August or September - just weeks after they left the WJFK compound. You know they were stretching for content when they had Clementine and myself call in as test callers.
I pass by it often, was the infamous porno shoot with Clementine there as well?
The most interesting thing about Clementine was J-Dub's impersonation of her - once he started doing it (basically Napoleon Dynomite) everyone started doing it - I remember Fez's laugh on-air the first time Dubs did that.

Last weekend I was thinking about Crazy Jen when I was in Fredneck, Maryland, and out of no-where I ran into her - first time I've seen her in about 2 years - Elfish was a fool for not taking her up.

Are there any Clementine pictures on .net? I always wondered what she looked like.
