Only if there's any threat to my safety. If the pilot dies, but the co-pilot is fully capable of landing the plane, then why make passengers nervous? It really serves no purpose.

Exactly, what difference does it make? We're in mid-air; there's nothing that can be done so why make a big deal out of it?

Thats the wonderful selfishness of people these days.

Yea id rather not know or have my comfort disturbed, id rather just make the co pilot have to sit next to a dead guy and pretend he isnt there while he keeps his focus and flies the plane. Sorry. Id prefer to know, and have the plane land right away

Like others have said. If there is no danger to the flight and its path. No way, I don't need to freak out and have the whole terror tube in a fucking frenzy

the copilot doesnt have to sit next to the body... just give the passengers some extra drinks for free and put the pilot's body in the space in the fridge...

In the ocean?

they turned it around and landed at the closest airport.

Obviously if im 20 min from the closest place and 24 min from the place im goin its different. Or if im over the ocean.

But if im goin from NJ to Ca say, and the guy dies over Missouri, that fuckin plane better come down in st louis to take care of shit

If I remember from last time I was on a plane, (maybe different planes are different) you would have to drag the pilot past all the people to do so

I like to be watching a bad movie , eating stale peanuts than getting interviewed by John Montone from 1010 wins , telling him I was shocked , but better off not knowing

I hope this happens to you on jetblue, and someone on the plane leaks it to the news like Die Hard 2. And you get all depressed anyway

nah... they only have to drag him in front of the first class people to get to the nearest fridge...

they could also stuff him in one of those carts if they wanted to use the coach fridge. no one would be the wiser...

A couple of years ago I was riding shotgun in the co-pilots seat for an hour flight aboard an twin prop. It was cool until I realized that if the pilot died in mid-flight, I'm next in command.

Are you tryin to tell me an international terriorist, such as yourself, can't figure out how to land a plane?

No wonder McClain tossed your ass off that building

Don't lie, you know nobody could land in that stupid game. Not even Mav and he's a scientologist.

Why is it that the only way to arrive on time to Newark airport is if the pilot is dead?

I landed once. COULDNT FUCKIN BELIEVE IT. took me about 6 months. usually I would kill myself to fuckin land. Finally I was expecting to crash so i just half assed it, and boom
I landed. Spent the next year tryin to fuckin land again. Never could.

Angry Nintendo Nerd never landed with the controller, but he landed it with the power glove. it was fuckin HILARIOUS

it gives the opportunity to shed useless weight. you're 30000 feet above ground and you can toss approx 190 lbs out the windaw. 190lbs better chance the flight simulator geek can land the bird.

Ever try to give someone CPR on a plane? It sucks, I'd rather ride a stretcher giving chest compressions than do so on a plane. Damn fat ass flyers.

I don't think they should tell you anything whether it is a failed engine, an electrical problem, bad weather, turbulence. Unless, by telling you they can alleviate your fear.
Otherwise, I don't want to know what is happening.

I would want to know that there is something going on in the cockpit. I dont need to know exactly what is going on but if there is an emergency I think it should be announced.

Here is a question for you, who is making the call that the guy is dead? Is it the copilot with no medical experience, why not see if there is a doctor on the airplane?

It really makes more sense to have an announcement unless it happens during a critical part of the flight which would be during the takeoff or landing.

If Fez was on that plane where the pilot died. I bet Fez would be acting like William Shatner in that Twilight Zone episode "Nightmare at 20,000 Feet"

or more like John Lithgow in the twilight zone movie.
