A hot air balloon ride if you've got $250 to spare.

My father always buys himself what he wants before anyone has a chance to buy it for him. So I wind up just giving him the money for it. But he's happy so  I've given up on trying to take him out to eat cause he never wants go. Maybe he just has an aversion to being with me.

Go to a real local butcher and get some good steaks.

It's already Saturday afternoon so they might be closed by now, but if it was earlier in the week it would be a great suggestion.

But that's more of birthday thing.

Roseblood, do you know of a place in the area that does this?

I would typically chip in with my brother and sister and get my father and we would buy him some sort of gas powered accessory to attach to the tractor out at our cabin.

my dad likes gas powered accessories, and he has a tracker and cabin too....hmm

I made sure that my mother had a great Mother's Day; I think that's enough for my dad.

I spent quite a lot getting mine that defibrillator, so I am basically all set. I did also get him a Hidden Tailor, which you wrap around the bottom of your shirt before zipping up up your pants and it keeps your pants from falling down by essentially turning your shirt into suspenders and you dont end up hiking up your pants ever few minutes and look like you have a load in your pants because you are not blessed with a large backside. They are cheap and work well. I have had one for years and years.

i agree.

my dad and i don't do gifts anymore really... unless there is a really big occasion... but i will make a delicious omelette brunch for him tomorrow after church and then probably take him out for a hibachi or steak dinner later.

the time spent together is worth way more than any gift i could give.

the best gifts i ever got were a day off from chores (when the kids were little) and a day off from cooking. good times :)

for those who do have a father, give them a hug tomorrow and thank them for what they did, for those who were never able to.
