Could espn get away without showing live feeds of games?
lets say they aired a live sports commentary show with real time comments and quick video replays of important moments in the game.
do most people tune in for the whole game?
i say no
they just watch the replay shots
and theyd care more about jokey back-and-forth with minimal game content than listening to what we have now

depends what we are talkin about. And no, they couldnt.
Most fans watch the full games. Especially sport to sport. I sit through every play of college football games even of teams i dont root for, cause its exciting. I sat through every single shot I could possibly see in the US Open, even after my rooting interest pretty much had no chance. I think most fans wanna see live the amazing shit that could happen, so they watch the games full to get to experience that

some places have that. They do it from the live game and run it later, every pitch in an hour. But thats not live, so you would already know what happened. You cant cut it on the fly like that.

those post production games must be great
cuts from boring gameplay, precognitive stats, researched commentary
i wish they could do games like that on the fly

I think he means NL games are shorter, cause everytime through the lineup, they kill any rallies by making pitchers hit and causing innings to end faster

it was pretty good ... it seems you can get two NL games in the time it takes for the yanks and cleveland to play one
the new MLB network's MLB Tonight: 1st to 3rd gives you in game updates, hi-lites and endless analysis for all the games

Marc, does your college team use the DH?

and probably makes the game alot more fun
You could make a chart with all the shit you are supposed to do in each situation. Its not really that hard. Let's be honest. It makes you do more if you don't have the DH, but I dont think it makes it that much harder

college baseball is a lot different than american league baseball. and it makes it significantly easier. i don't have to worry about double switches and if I should leave a pitcher in for the next out or two because his spot is coming up in the order and i don't want to burn a reliever for a batter or two.

you dont have to worry about that in the American League, either. Its awesome. Pitchers hitting is so gay.
The NL should shake it up. When the pitcher is hitting, they should make you have to pitch to him with a fielder. THAT would be entertaining

the dh is the equivalent to the lazy kid in a pick up game of basketball that just stays on the offensive side of the court and cherry picks.

see you are missing the point though, marc. Its not about purity or tradition, its about ENTERTAINMENT. Pitchers hitting, for the most part, is not very entertaining. And it makes the game less fun. bases loaded, 2 outs, and SOME FUCKIN PITCHER is coming up. Fuck THAT

Well you beat me to it but yes, that is exactly what the MLB network does. Not a bad watch.

It could be a good way to get people to watch new sports but fans of a sport want to see the game and the less commentary the better.

then why is sportscenter so popular, even with big sports fans?

Because people cannot watch every game, and they get to see the "important" plays from games they did not watch -- or choose not to watch.

Baseball is also like my 6th favorite sport. So its a tougher one to gauge me on. College football, i find no part of boring unless the game at that time just sucks. Sometimes that happens. But when im watchin a game I wanna watch, im locked in even through the halftime stuff they do, especially ask Dr Lou. LOVE THAT SHIT.
Golf too. I sat through commercials during the US Open just to make sure I didnt miss 1 shot
