I need to get rid of my old truck. It's a '99 1/2 ton chevy 4x4 with high miles. It may be worth $1000 on a good day, but to sell it, I would have to drive it to the smog shop, and I would be perfectly content if I never had to drive the cocksucker again.
If you donate it to something like the local firehouse for training, do you still have to smog it (California) even though it is just gonna get torched? I need this thing off my property.

i would highly doubt it as they would come and trailer it away.
they wont run it as they would have to drain the fluids out.
but call your local firehouse.
they would know.

I've you're in the market for a new car, you should wait until the new "cash for clunkers" law goes into effect. You could get $4500 for your truck if you trade it in for something that gets better gas mileage.

I've already got a new truck, but I've been lazy about ditching this old hunka shit. No answer at the firehouse. Those shiftless firefighters are probably out arsoning something up.

I've donated two cars to charity and all they need is the title. I don't think it matters with the inspection.
