So, How's everybody doing?
Are many still looking for work?
For those with jobs, earning less than prior years?
For those with 401ks did your company stop matching?
Does anyone feel like things are improving?

For me personally I was recently told no raise this year.
Several close friends out of work for over 9 months.
Glad to still have a job.

Commission checks are pretty much non-existent. I haven't seen sales figures this low since I started in this business over 16 years ago.

Job is doing well, company car and phone, and don't have to commute since I work in my hometown. I'm still tight with some of the people where I worked in the past and they always ask if I'd like to come back since I'm very good at what I do and a specialist in my line of work.

I still contribute to my 401 and the company still adds a percentage. We got a bonus earlier in the month and will be getting another one in Aug. And I'm going to use my 3 weeks of vacation left for Sept. before the cycle starts over again.

I'm doing good.

no match on the 401k or raise this year.

upper management all received a 5% cut in their pay.

But at the plant i work at we are building a 3.9 mil building. So im thinkg with slow times and this going up, that is why we are getting hit. Hard.

Business has been steady and has actually started picking up, but the company shit the bed so hard last year we're still digging ourselves out.

Not a lot people out there spending disposable income on landscaping. Instead you got a lot homeowners doing things themselves. Like planting faggot impatiens.

unemployment and no health insurance cause cobra, even though 65% contributed by the government, was not an option for companies under 20 people in PA... yay me.
But it's a beautiful summer and I will get to spend some quality time home with the kiddo, who did not have that much of me for extended periods of time since he was 12 weeks old.

I didn’t think it was possible to have had as bad of a month as April
was and still stay in business, then along came June.

I have records back to 2002 on QuickBooks – Worst month, quarter,
year to date. Bad any way I look at it.

One of the work vans blew a steering rack last week. I’ve been debating
whether I want to dump $400 into a lost cause or look for a new one we really
can’t afford now. That or lay our last full time employee off.

I haven't cashed a pay check this year. Another couple of months of this and
I'll have to put money into the company to stay afloat.

At least it’s a beautiful Sunday.

Lost my job, and after a few months of looking, I found another job. I've had to take a severe pay cut, though, and I'm struggling.

I'm supposed to start getting incentive pay and OT hours at some point, but that should have kicked in now. If it does, I'll be relatively fine, but who knows.

I'm really not sure what to do at this point.

believe it or not there are actually benefits to jobs where you are paying taxes... and paying taxes in general.

But good luck with school and all. Hopefully by the time you are done the economy will have turned a bit and you will find a job with a degree.

It's a little tough right now, so thank God I have the fortunate living situation that I do. The hours at work are limited as is plus trying to finish up school fulltime this summer makes it even harder to get time. I'm right in the middle of a two week stretch of not getting an hours and paying all the bills and buying groceries has pretty much wiped me out until the next paycheck.

I'm not even opening my 401k and MF reports.

thats whats fucked up. I had found one before the economy tanked, so I didnt even need to think about goin back to school. But all that shit went bad and now I almost don't have a choice.

Unless that old guy quits...or something

well i graduated with my BA this january and that was supposed to bring about a 5-6k increase in my yearly pay. little did i know that the education increase was being suspended as well as the yearly inflation adjustments to everyone's salary. then my documented hours were cut as well as my hourly pay rate. i say documented hours because tho i actually work 45 hrs/week, i only get paid for 35. also, my job changed the dental and medical plans. the dental copay went up from $5 to $30 and the medical went up from pcp $15 to $20, spec $20 to $40, rx $15 to $35.

but im lucky to still have a job. (and they know that which is why they keep abusing us)

He's doing his part to stimulate the economy. If people stopped buying beer, more people would be losing their jobs in that industry.

I forgot to mention, they cut all OT to zero, even for people who were hired under the agreement that they were guaranteed OT every week. Then I heard a rumor yesterday my position in the company is probably on the chopping block, which either means Im gonna be fucked over and have to step down or it'll be my chance to move up providing they get rid of the dead weight above me
