Yesterday I went into my guestroom and found 4 cats in a circle underneath my ceiling fan. I looked up and there was a fucking bird sitting there. WTF. The room is under renovation and there is a hole in the ceiling and a hole in the drywall. Somehow this bird must have gotten into my roof, then into my room through the drywall hole. We closed the door and kept the window open hoping he would fly out.

THE BIRD IS NOW IN THE FUCKING WALLS OF THE ROOM. It must have flown around, then went into another drywall hole into the walls. I can hear it fucking flapping around in the walls while the cats sit at a specific area of the wall licking their chops.

HOW THE FUCK DO I GET THIS BIRD OUT?????

Sadly, I think it might die any you may have to fish it out.

One option may be to get one of those bee smokers that bee keepers use to calm bees in their bee hives when they are producing bee honey.

Bee.

cut a hole in the dry wall and have a net ready to catch it when it gets out

Cross over into the light. All are welcome. All welcome. Go into the Light. There is peace and serenity in the Light.

Short of trying to catch it, I'll echo that you may have to let it die then fish it out. The poor thing will dehydrate quickly, loose all strength, and croak.

It can cross over into the light, I don't care, I just don't want bird carcass in my wall!

Are you renovating it yourselves? If not, let the contractors fish it out if they're the ones that left the hole. Or just keep the cats in there until it decides to surface. That might scare it to death.

Fishing pole, hook and a worm.

Make sure you take it and get the weight certified before having it stuffed and mounted.

Shock and awe. Put your speakers against the wall, and crank up the sabbath.

This happened to my grandmother when I was a kid. A sparrow came down through the attic gable and was in the kitchen wall. There was pipe access under the sink, so we opened the cupboard doors, turned off all the lights, pulled back the curtain and opened the window. Once it saw light, off it flew with some cobwebs stuck to his feet.

At about 9pm last night, I realized the bird was not making noise anymore.

I don't know if it flew out the window or is dead in my wall.

I guess I'll find out in a few days. :glurps:

Depending on the room, you might try this - Close the room up at night and turn out all the lights then illuminate the top of the hole in the wall or rafters with a small flash light. If you have a window, leave that open with no screen. Hopefully birdie will see how to get out and then hot foot it out the window.

We had a juvinile bird find its way in between the basement ceiling and second story flooring and it got tired when it couldn't find its way out and fell down between a wall. It fluttered for a few days and died we think. It didn't smell though so maybe it escaped or something ate it. Someone suggested the flash light idea after that had happened.

Stare at some dust, and if any of it starts to move, you got them. That's how small they are.

maybe don't buy the birdseed insulation next time. it's for the birds, not your house.
