They're a pain in the ass. You have to drill/screw the bracket on the walls and then hook the blinds onto the brackets. You should have just done drapes. All you have to do is hang the pole and slide the fabric on the pole.

If you are mounting the blinds on the trim around the window there is a certian way to do it. If you are mounting the blinds inside the trim of the window there is another way to do it. Unless you bought REALLY cheap blinds every set I've ever bought come complete with instructions on how to install the brackets for both set ups.

Without being there I can give you little other advice, sorry.

I'm not sure how mechanically inclined you are but seriously, it's very easy. Just take a short break and come back to it with a clear head if you feel frustrated.

Fit the bracket onto the blinds before you mount the bracket to the window so you have an idea how to rock the blind into place once it's up. In fact, fit both of them on the blind, put the blind up to where you want it and mark some rough pencil lines on the wood where you're gonna screw the brackets. That helps a lot.

When screwing the brackets up, make sure you're not going to hit internal parts of the blind's works or you're going to have to move the bracket and have exposed screw holes. Not a big deal but the job won't look as clean.

You'll get it.

The funny part is, I use to tell customers all the time how easy it was to measure and hang blinds (cause I knew the step by step) without having really done it myself. They figured if this little girl could do it, it shouldn't be a problem. HaHa.

Oh and they always give you extra screws.

Yea, that's the ghetto way to do it. I mean it works but it's an unnecessary pain in the ass. If you put the bracket on the wall, pencil marked the center of the holes then put the screws on there and got them started it would work but just get a cheap $20 drill.

Besides my 18V Dewalt I bought a $20 3V drill from BJ's that I keep around the house for small repairs on my computers and other shit. It's just handy to have.

Haha I've seen those. But why does hanging self-adhesive shades seem more ghetto than throwing a sheet up to your window? I've only seen the temporary paper ones, so maybe you are onto something. Pleated and cellular shades look nice but they can be expensive depending on what you order.
