is it possible to be afraid fo sleep? i mean nervous that you won't wake up in time for something, or what happens what you sleep, or that you'll miss something.

Ikea-
Fear of missing stuff and staying awake all night is what got me the boot from my college. It came to the point where me, my roomate and 4 guys from down the hall would stay up til about 530 every morning just because we didnt want to go to sleep 'cause we were afraid of missing something.
We would wake up when it was dark out and go to sleep when the sun was coming up. It made it difficult to go to class. The funny thing is: we were the only 6 people awake prolly in the entire building so we weren't missing anything. Just go to sleep, dont worry, nothing good ever happens anyway.

Oh, I'm not afraid of it personally. It's just something I thought about. And I go to sleep at 5:30 as it is because I can't really sleep before then not because i'm scared, just check the timing of my posts.

When I was in school, my motto was: "Sleep is for the weak...and those who lack drugs."

Today, my motto is: "Sleep for a week!"

When I return to school in September, expect me to revert to my previous motto.

IKEABOY - Since you're experiencing it, you know it's possible. I believe you meant to ask if it is unusual. It is not. Fear of sleeping has many possible causes including truama, nightmares, general anxiety, aggravation, pain, etc.

Ikeaboy,

I usually have trouble slepping. With me, it's usually worrying about what I have to do tomorrow or some unresolved problem that came up during the day. I suggest that if it continues, see a doctor about some sleep medication.

there was always something going on and i was afraid to miss out on the funIt's not that I'm nervous I'm going to miss out on fun. Fun is the last thing on my mind. just something important
