GM tries to pitch Camaro to gay men


The models lean seductively over the hood of the 2010 Chevrolet Camaro, wearing only tiny yellow underwear emblazoned with the car's logo. Grasping a wash cloth, they rub down the car until it sparkles as an unseen cameraman asks about the car.

The videos, broadcast on YouTube, use sex appeal to sell Camaros to guys. Only the models aren't women, they're men.
The racy commercials are part of a new advertising campaign targeting gay, bisexual and transgender Americans.

I thought it was interesting that they would market it this way. They realize that this market is big enough to try and capture. While we are still a few years away from seeing these commercial on mainstream TV, did you ever think GM would market a muscle car this way? Good for them, maybe they will get start to get it after BK.

They are a company trying to emerge from BK and looking to recapture their market share. They are trying to marketing this car to this demographic. They should. They should do whatever it takes to market their products to every demographic.

Or, you're right. The are publicity whores and are trying to create a buzz. Either way, it's different than what their usual way of marketing GM, other than we are big, you will buy our cars.

They owe us all a lot of money, I want them to pay us back.
