If you ever had to spend 10+ years in prison(not county jail) how do you think it might change you?

I think I could make it through unscathed; more cynical and bitter for sure, but basically the same person. I've had my ass kicked but can hold my own, can withstand a good amount of pain based on injuries I've had, and can keep myself quietly and unobtrusively occupied by reading or working out.

Honestly, I don't think I could take anything sexual, not even non-threatened oral or manual relief, so that might be a problem. :glurps:

With all the free time I'd be ripped and smarter.

Might as well make a positive out of it.

I think the first year I'd spend the whole time thinking about how much time I have left. I would probably try and avoid talking to anyone I didn't have to and read as much as I could to pass the time. By the second year, I'd probably start adjusting and "enjoy" my life there much more. By the time I hit year 10 I'd probably be more nervous about leaving than staying.

I really dont know if I'd work out more or less...

I work out mon-fri basically so I dont explode into a giant fatty, but w/ the amt I drink I think that would balance out if thats taken away in prison (not sure about the calories/availability of prison wine).

As far as the person I am...I think I would enjoy beach/golf/alone time even more than I do already- which is a lot.

"I've got 7 dicks in my ass and there's always room for 8"

Has fez ever served time? That could explain a lot.

the thought of prison is what made me hit the straight and narrow. Without getting into details, I was not always the boyscout I am today. One day, however, i was pulled over by a police officer in north carolina, while driving a car that may or may not have been... how to put this delicately.... full of drugs. Thinking to myself that all it would take is a flinch in this guys suspiscion, to bring in a k-9 then i'm probably gonna go away for a long long time.

That thought to me was like "okay yeah, time to stop playing around, and change gears entirely"

However if I did go, I mean, what can ya do? you gotta just accept it as your life, for whatever time you are in there... I figure i'd write alot...

I'd probably have an anxiety attack before getting there and then go nuts...I'd end up in a mental institution. If I make it to prison maybe I will get that book written that I've always wanted to start and finish.

Dude!

I cant imagine as there are too many x factors involved. I am already pretty bitter so I doubt that would improve.

I would not do well in prison, I am just too used to being secluded most of the time. That and I could not handle alway watching my back.

As far as surviving goes, I dont think Id have a problem. Im a survivor. I have no problems minding my own business so Id probably keep to myself alot. Pretty much stick to working out, reading, and playing cards.

But being away from my kids that long would crush me.

Not if I had kids. Auntie smurf has a prision tat and knows how to make a shank. I also dont like kids if that helps.

I'd off myself before ever going to prison.

I can't live like that, would spend a lot of time in the mental health institution, and I would rather be dead then go through that.

Is there a way to beg for solitary confinement? If I had my own cell and did not have to deal with anyone, I could probably handle it. But bing in general population would suck. I'd rather die.

Man, in all honesty, I hope it passes quickly for you and that you can move on.

As for doing a long stretch in the stone lonely, I guess I could do it if I had to. I'm semi addicted to those Lockup shows on MSNBC, and it seems to me that the strategy is to keep a low profile. Kind of like being in basic training: you're doing a great job if nobody knows your name.

And fortunately, I'm too big and old to rape.
