First time in 48 years that an animated show gets nominated (http://awards.tv.yahoo.com/blog/4-emmy-noms-surprises-snubs-and-a-few-actual-good-choices)for Best Comedy.

Mojo just bleched.
Fucking bastards. The Simpsons may be complete shit these days but it still deserves a nom since they ignored it when it was the best thing on TV. I won't even mention South Park which dwarfs both shows these days.

I thought you liked Conchords. Why would you want it gone?

I guess beating a dead horse and having plots that seem more like examples of 'stream of consciousness' is whats considered 'best comedy' these days...

That episode of South Park in which it was revealed that scripts for the shows are written by having manatees randomly pluck balls out of a pool probably was about as brutal a slam on one show by another as I've ever seen.
It was just so dead on that I've never been able to watch Family Guy the same way again.

i'm not a family guy fan, but looking over the Emmys list its one of the most satisfied i ever been with the nominations. I think its cuz there is so much more cable programming and i like that they are looking over animated series to cross over to be the best comedy series (although i do think South Park shouldve been there instead..especially for the Kanye West episode).
But there is some great nominations. I knew "Breaking Bad" would get a best show and actor, but glad that Jesse Pinkman got a best supporting actor nom..he rules. Louie CK is nominated for "Chewed Up", Sarah Silverman is nominated for best comedy actress. Pretty cool. I also liked them nominated Tracy Morgan for best supporting actor, he is hilarious on "30 Rock" but i thought snooty emmy voters would pass him over

Simpsons > Family Guy
I love Family Guy, but I couldn't agree more. If I had to choose, Simpsons would win hands down.

Dude, I just looked at the nominees.
It's against Weeds, Entourage, and The Office. ALL of those shows should have ended at least two years ago (I watched The Office the other day, and it may be the worst show ever).
So I guess it's just the age of shitty TV that we live in.

i actually hated the show "Weeds" til last season when they changed the show around. But I agree that "Entourage" and "The Office" is unbearable these days

Yeah, no.
The Simpsons 10-15 years ago is pretty much better than anything ever.
