I've made my ruling on this one and I apologize for the delay, work has been a bitch bastard.

Gvac - you know I love you, but blanket statements like this will not pass. You are correct if the person bringing these items purchased them at a store, for the record.

Potato salad, Macaroni salad - If made from scratch is a great side dish. We all cant come to Gvac standards and call ketchup a side.

Also I think we should be adults on this issue so call it a pasta salad. Macaroni should be baked with delicious cheeses and served hot at a bbq.

Cole Slaw is better than both macaroni and potato, it can be a side dish and a sandwich topping. Pulled Pork Sandwiches with slaw are the best.

cavatappi is macaroni. macaroni is basically any tube pasta (generally egg-free). macaroni is much more than just elbows.

Gvac, I agree and disagree with you depending on where the party is.

If you are at a bbq at a park or ball field I say no mayo based salads.

However if you are at a bbq at someones house I say bring it and put it in the fridge. I grew up living outside in the summer and having bbq's at my parents house. We always kept the bottom shelf of our fridge empty for parties just in the event someone brings a salad like this. I have since continued to keep a shelf clear just in case.

I am a huge potato salad fan so I don't mind keeping the beer and wine in a cooler to make room for a salad.

I just made the best potato salad ever....I asked GVAC for dinner, upon Rhino's request, he replied with something like Mayo is the devil's semen? I think that is what he said. I feel really bad cause I was gonna grill up some nice steaks for him too. He didn't have to eat the potato salad. I made that for Rhino.
