Hey Oracle,

I'm feeding my neighbor's fish while he's on vacation. He's got 4 tanks of varying size with various types of fish.

When I went into his apartment today it was BLISTERING hot in there. I turned his AC on, but it got me wondering how hot is too hot for the fish in the tank?

How cold is too cold?

I know nothing about fish, I'm just feeding the fucking things.

Thanks.

tropical fish tanks usually have heaters that keep the water between 78 and 82 degrees,if you put the termostat at 78 they'll be fine.i dont think they get antsy til the water reaches 90

Hey GVAC will you feed my goldfish when I go on vacation? You seem so caring about living creatures and all. I haven't found a good fish feeder in awhile.

Being lower species, they love macaroni salad.

My pets would have ravaged your goldfish.

Cut the heads and tails off.
Dredge in egg and flour.
Have a hot skillet ready with olive oil.
2 to 3 minutes should do it.

Oh shit. Wrong thread.

Check temp. Should be btwn 78 to maybe 84, that being max. The hotter it gets the less 02 the water can hold. If its above that, either bump up the ac or fill ziploc bags with ice and float them.

you sure have taken on an obsession with yogurt of late

I think it takes a lot for the tanks to heat up to a temperature that is dangerous for the fish. Unless they are standing in direct sunlight.
I took the thermometer out of my tank cause they really enjoyed breeding in proper temperatures... so for now they are banned to 72F until I think enough died to repopulate the tank. Little fuckers won't die either.

I am amazed, gvac takes care of FISH????

This.

I want a salt water tank one day and fill it withe each type of fish from the movie finding Nemo. I will also trim the fin of one of the clown fish to look like Nemo. Just no gay sharks.

Oh geez. I own a tropical fish store (seriously, that's what I do for a living). Goldfish do best at around 65, tropicals (as mentioned) at 78 or so, depending on the species. What are in these tanks? If you don't know, can you take a picture? I'll help the best I can, sounds like the least of their worries are what you feed each tank/the normal "I went on vacation and my fish died" stuff.

They'll say, "Why would you abbreviate it if you have to spell it out anyway?"
