Oracle, I'm heading to NJ this weekend. I've never been to AC and feel I should, just to say I have. Is it possible to find:
1. A decent, inexpensive hotel, not the Borgata
2. $10 Blackjack tables
3. Decent strip club without high cover charge and jersey skanks
4. Safety as I stumble around the town (Isn't the area behind the strip crack street?)
5. A good buffet
These are the things I require when hitting gambling towns like AC, Vegas or Reno

I stayed at the Tropicana a couple months ago and they had a special for the summer: Friday night $99 and the next night regular price (around 200 something I think) if you stay 2 nights.
Stay near the casinos at night.
Decent strip club? HA.
The casinos are populated with Jersey skanks too.

1. Stay on the boardwalk. Use priceline. I got a room at the chelsea on a friday night for $95. It was really beautiful.
2. Yup.
3. They are awful.
4. Again, do not wander past the boardwalk. I mean, even the block next to the broadwalk is a nightmare.
5. Eh, a buffet is a buffet. AC Buffet's are decent enough.

Thanks buddays for the advice. I have been told by many people about the strip clubs, but when I drink and gamble, I get weak and have a primal need for nudity. I'll resist
Where are the $10 tables Snoogans? How many decks usually? Hit soft 17? DAS?

they wont be in the main section, but they are always there. You can usually even find em at Borgata if you look enough. you may have to wait a few but they are there.
I believe its 6 decks, and I think the dealer stands but im usually pretty drunk

1 - On a weekend in August? You're looking at at least $250 to stay on the Boardwalk.
2 - I haven't seen a $10 blackjack table in A.C. in 10 years.
3 - Nope
4 - A.C. is a hellhole - stay in your hotel.
5 - There are some good buffets, but they're not cheap.

I went last friday night and stayed at The Chelsea (3 1/2 star hotel right on the broadwalk) for $95. Also, at Tropicana there were $10 blackjack tables.

If you want to stay in a hotel with a casino, you're looking at over $250.
I haven't been to A.C. in a couple of years, and I really don't intend on ever going back, but if they have $10 tables on a Friday night, they REALLY must be hurting. You used to only see them at 4 AM on a Tuesday.

If you want a buffet, go to Borgata. A few bucks more than most but it pisses on Caesers.
The Tropicana has some really good restaurants, and is the place to go for poker. Finding a $10 BJ table on a Sat. is tough. Believe it or not, go to the Trump Marina. That place is dying and there should be tables.
If you can put some time aside, check out the A.C. Outlets. It takes a little searching, but there are bargains to be had.
Forget go-go bars. Go back to your room, buy some porn and jack.

not true.
listen to snoogans on this one. if you want a strip club, go to Bare Exposure on Pacific. Probably the classiest, but still completely classless.

I stand corrected. Like I said, maybe things have changed since the last time I've been there. I have learned it's best for me to stay out of the casinos anyway.

I've only been to AC once but I don't think you will find a ten dollar table at a good casino on a weekend.I know that in Vegas table limits go up Thurs thruogh Sat.if you do it will be before 7-8 o'clock.I was at the Rio in LV last year and they had a few ten dollar tables but at 8 they bumped them up to 25.

i'm going to ac this weekend for a bachelor party & we haven't booked the room yet cause they aren't cheap for some reason. it's like this saturday is way worse than other saturdays have been. even the days inn is $249. so we're waiting till we get there because they always offer my friend a discounted room at the taj so we're just gonna wing it & hope we get a nice deal. if not we're looking at $300+. i haven't been to ac in years. i don't gamble so i have no idea what i'm gonna do all weekend.

Chelsea looks like a really nice place. I checked Friday nights for the rest of the summer and the lowest rate I could find online was $160. Saturdays the prices were at least double. As far as the big hotels and casinos, the lowest price I could find on a Saturday night was at Showboat (ugh) for $309. I knew that it was ludicrous to stay down there on a Saturday night during the summer unless you had a comp. I know that during the week is a completely different story, but I was talking about on a weekend during the summer. Where do you guys find these cheap rooms? Even when I gambled with tremendous frequency (I used to play craps multiple times a week back in the mid 90's) full room comps on a weekend were few and far between.
Also, the last time I was down there ('06 maybe), I had trouble finding a $15 craps table on a Friday night, let alone a $10 blackjack table. Like I said, I guess times have changed. Can you still smoke in the casinos?

Absolutely. The only times I've seen $10 craps in A.C. were weekdays in the early AM hours, and those were extremely rare occurrences. Maybe there are $10 blackjack tables, I never played blackjack, but in my wandering around, $25 was always the lowest minimum I could find on a weekend.

I has great luck with "name your own price" on priceline. I don't remember anyone smoking.
Goodluck budday! Hope you at least pay for your trip :)

Nah, any night during the week you can find $5 craps tables down there. Especially later in the PM. But weekends are just ridiculous.

1 night is enough time for A.C, If you have a car, get a hotel on Route 30 which is 10 minutes away and under $100 for a night... The Casino are way to much on fri and sat
Buffet has to be at Borgata
$10 Tables should be around on the strip or at the Trump Marina (which is next to the Borgata)
Strip Clubs are all skanky, cant help u there, for bachelor parties we get the talent delivered to the hotel
If u plan on looking around at the Casinos, Tropicana and The Borgata are the only ones worth walking around.........
