View Full Version : Should This Site Even Have A Political Forum?
One thing we're always told is to never discuss religion or politics because people get passionate about those subjects and it creates friction.
Why in the world do we have a POLITICS forum on a site about a radio show?
It's ridiculous!
Get rid of it, I say.

Yes because Lord Jezo would go completely insane if he didn't have a forum to post about Refugee camps here in the U.S. of A and other assorted mumbo jumbo.

Why would we want to debate real life topics when we could just discuss who the best front man of all time is...again? Tell me, does a great front man need to be only a singer or can he play an instrument as well?
Or maybe a forum based on who can post the most times in a month?

history and current events?
Id love it
We can start w/ talking about how insanely far apart the 15th and 19th amendments were from each other. I get that it was a different time and people were not nearly as progressive/amendments to our constitution dont just happen...but seriously?? 50 years between them getting passed?

It's really fucking hard to get those things agreed on and ratified. The process is very drawn out.

I know it, and ultimately im glad that it takes so long so knee jerk politicians dont fuck w/ the constitution, but prohibition was passed before women were allowed to vote and after blacks/indian males were. Obviously mistakes were made and our history can do the collective cough/collar stretch, but 50 years is a generation.
Could we discuss the Federalist Papers at length?

It all evens out.
I'm a member of a wrestling message board, and I start a lot of threads there about Ron and Fez that no one seems to care about.

No poll? I want to vote pee in my ballot box.
Well look, people here got opinions - LOTS of opinins. Why not have a political thread area. We talk about everything else don't we? The posts are this board are maybe 5% at best about anything even related to the show.
I think that the political thread is important. There are many points of view that get aired. That is important so that we can all TRY and understand one another. I would not say that I share the same views as some here, but if we all just discussed things with like minded people our minds would not be as open to other ideas.
For instance I have had discourse with some here that has opened my eyes at times and enraged me at other times. Sometimes opening my eyes to others views, thoughts and feelings on a myriad of topics. I would like to think at 44 years and a card carrying member of the VFW I have been "seasoned", however I read some things from a twentysomething that has their view of the world and I find that enlightening and at times frightening. Even if you do not agree with someone or some train of thought, I feel that you can grow as a person to hear it, acknowledge it and respect it.

That's way too eloquent and intelligent a response thread that for all intents and purposes amounts to the temper tantrum of a broken man.

Should rename it to the Left Wing Obama Liberal Love Corner, because that's all that goes on in here. The right is hated in every thread while Obama is given blind love and faith on all topics.
Besides that, yeah, it should stay, its a fun place most of the time.

I was not going to contribute to this thread, even though I love the political forum here I just didn't have much to say. Reading this post, however, cracked me up. Jezo really had me belly laughing. I second the motion to rename the political forum here to: the Left Wing Obama Liberal Love Corner
