I am just sad that Fez seems to be going the angry bit route with almost every caller/ poster lately.
What made me start liking R&F over O&A was the fact that they often treated their fans and callers as friends of the show now it just turns into an angry yell fest full of unfounded accusations, calling good people bad... But it goes both ways, Katja. A few people have discovered they can get mentions or even invites on the show by attacking either Dave or Fez. I don't believe that Fez has yet ventured down the O&A cliche of tearing apart anybody who doesn't bow down to them.

Oh I know, but it seems most of the people being painted black are actually good people and a lot of it is just like mikeyboy mentioned today, when Dave grabs a random name from memory without any recollection why he remembered the name and throws them in with the kind of people you just mentioned... Now I don't exactly see the problem there, cause it's Dave and he's always done that... but as much as we know, so do the people on the show... and they have a choice to run with the bit or set it straight.
And if it's an intended bit then I just don't like it... people that don't post on this or any board hear it and might think that this place is really a horrible place with negative and mean people... and I just don't see it that way.

Maybe that's why messageboard people should go on the air. It's definitely way funnier to hear someone you know completely fuck up a joke and look like a turd-eating mutt; this applies better to callers though because when they awkwardly hang up, there is no chance for comforting those phone-slamming loners, which makes their humiliation all the richer.

Fez is retaking his territory.

Everybody has an opinion about when Fez was at his best. If you think about what he was doing at that time, you'll remember that it didn't include taking crap from any intern, producer, guest or caller. The reason he didn't take any? He didn't have to - they showed appropriate respect.

So he had a couple of heart attacks and became weak and vulnerable long enough for people to start feeling comfortable ripping him. Now it sounds like he's done with it and intends to restore himself to his previous role and status.

There's no malice. He's just recognizing when he's being disrespected in a way he didn't used to be, and he is responding to it every time. Some people will get their feelings hurt along the way, but it's necessary.

I think today was a reality check that proved that putting on a radio show and trying to be funny and "on" all the time is not nearly as easy as a lot of the negative nancies here would make it out to be. Maybe the fez haters and ESD haters should try being on point for even just 5 mins and they would see that hey it's not so easy so lay off the pressure.
