I have to say that I 100% disagree that Dave has to go part of your post, BUT I do agree that listening to Fez attack Casey today made me turn the show off. I know there are a lot of Dave haters here...I know some feel he takes away from the feel of the show. I disagree with those sentiments, and what I hear in Dave is a guy that truly does love his job. It is nice to hear someone with so much enthusiasm and passion for what he does, and you can hear that in Davey Mac. Him and Casey are great people and I find what happened today to be such a shame.

I have been a long time fan of Ron and Fez and have supported them and listened even through some bad bits, but attacking a member of a family that is not associated with the show was too much for me to take. I turned it off today. And I didnt listen to the rest of the day. Now I am not in the same boat as the person I am quoting here, but I understand their frustration.

If this is a bit with Fez not liking Casey, then ha ha the joke is on me, and I am a rube. But if it is not a bit then I feel very sad for this show that I love. during WNEW, the producers were as much a part of the show as they are today. 3 years ago, I feel, was the exception and the way the show is now is more the norm.

Fez got pissed at an ivite to a BBQ he had no possible way to attend. See my earlier post to understand the logic of inviting people. From the posts it sounds like Fez's paranoia is getting the best of him. Everything Dave does is to get him.

At one point, Fez said Dave can't spell 'cordially', suggesting Casey wrote the invitations hoping to hurt Fez. He almost broke character when he said this.

Besides, Casey's tweets and posts made it seem as though she was really hurt. I can't believe Ron would just continue to bring it up throughout the show if that was the case. Especially when Dave said that Casey's brother is sick. There is no way that Ron would have mocked her brother like he did and compare it to Fez's situation if it were real.

So, the R&F show is going the pro wrestling route. Fez will continue to be the heel, spouting anti-gun, pro-gay, pro-Iranian, pro-censorship opinions and attacking people's wives and families while we rubes write outraged posts on the boards.

I think it is a work...the on-air bickerers are in on it...at least a couple of the .netters are in on it (I couldn't believe it was possible to be a poor actor when posting)...and the entertainment IS making rubes of as many of us as possible...

Its not what we all think BUT how FEZ thinks. His feelings may not make sense to us, be it late invites or how far it is to get to NJ. I feel that it is Daves responsibility to avoid this kind of stuff if he wants to hold his place on the show.

I think in a lot of ways it is no win for Dave.
I don't have an answer for that except for him to think what he wants on the show and follow it.

well said. I think people are generally cowards when it comes to Ron. He clearly was "poking the tard" today. How many times had the whole thing died down when he brought it up again? I was especially disappointed when he was making jokes equating Casey's brother's condition to Fez's. Well prep would be good in any case, but in this case Dave saved this up to get more airtime and take a shot at Fez, Ron knew it and he pointed out to Dave that he brought the topic up on purpose. Well prep would be good in any case, but in this case Dave saved this up to get more airtime and take a shot at Fez, Ron knew it and he pointed out to Dave that he brought the topic up on purpose. Fez checking out Casey's twitter is what you do when you miss something and you want to know how it went, I highly doubt he would have mentioned the bbq today if Dave didn't bring it up.

He might have mentioned it in a few weeks because he stewed on it but I think today's cluster fuck was Dave's doing.

The only thing I think Fez needs to do is forget about Casey and stop making comments about her. There is no rule that says you have to like your co-worker's wife so if he doesn't that is fine, but bringing her up during today's show was lame, unless he has proof that she is whispering into Dave's ear that he should be second mic, making comments like that are out of line.

The question you are not asking yourself is, "would Fez have gone, regardless of when the invite was sent?" Most of us can agree that the answer is no. The other option would be for Dave not to have invited Fez. This would again result in a big blowup. Dave is trapped no matter how you look at it.

Fez is pretty fucking wacky when it comes to the off-air incidents, but it's so obvious at this point that Dave has no problem stepping over Fez and shows him no respect on his own show.

How much respect would you have for a boss that over the last 3 years has done less and less of his job requiring you to do more of it? Fez has put it in neutral and is coasting. when was the last fezatorial, open letter or any Fez created bit? Dave has passion for what he does and that frightens Fez. He knows that a producer can become a second mic with Ron, that's where he came from. So why not take Dave as a challenge and step up??

Does anyone think if the phone call at JKF from the pd asking if Fez was in today(since he wasn't talking) happened now instead of then that Ron would go off even half as much as he did then? I don't.

Dave should just go back to being a producer and let Fez show off his diminishing radio skills. See how often Ron calls someone into the studio. Even Chris Stanley has been getting more and more mic time.

Dave makes Ron laugh and has decent discussions with Ron. I may be wrong but it seems that I hear Ron say things like "You bring up a good point" much motre to Dave them Fez.

Been listening since dot com days and reading dot net since its inception. never been compelled to post but yesterday changed that for me. The show has changed alot over the years usually always good but lately not so much. There are some things that annoy me more than the typical complaints. Mainly its the attitude of "unless you post in the vain of Moe, your not a fan" this mentality has spilled over into the show. First off a message board, twitter, facebook etc. shouldn't affect on air personailties. This is the internet, everyone, Ron and Fez included know its all bullshit and doesn't matter. (just as in reality this post doesn't mean shit). Secondly message boards are meant for how people feel about a given topic be it good or bad. For a show to be so involved with it that any negative comments cause issues on air is ridiculous and makes the hosts no better than the people they complain about who post.

The other thing that truly bothers me is the fact that in a lot of people minds,Fez included, Ron does no wrong. Dave may ball bust, but Ron is a huge advocate of "poking the retard". Ron, countless times says something along with Dave and Fez only goes off on Dave. Its tiresome.

The way I see it is all parties are guilty for the shows current issues. Ron doesn't take responsibility for all the shit he causes that falls on Dave. Dave needs to grow up and stop trying to impress Ron. He doesn't speak up at all for fear of his job (I would have warned Fez once to keep his mouth shut about Casey then he would have got popped), Fez needs......too many to list. Just my 2cents

I always wonder how Fez can get a paycheck without earning it. This has gone on for years. When Ron had jury duty they had to run a pre-recorded show because Fez wasn't capable of doing a show by himself. Ron does shows by himself, but Fez can't do 5 minutes alone.

I honestly dont understand why ESD's wife/family is an okay target for Fez's insane attacks. I mean the guy just brought up a post she made two fucking years ago on a message board! This is insane!! We had many a laugh at ET's expense, right? I understand some of the listeners have personal relationships with Dave but don't think that's true for the audience at large and if more people are laughing at or otherwise entertained/intrigued by all of this than made uncomfortable by it, there really is no argument against it. None of us are as capable of making that call as the people who are currently making it. As for Dave making his name valuable enough - there isn't much disagreement that his efforts in that regard included disrespecting Fez.

Ive dealt with bosses that use their position and their employees financial situation to take advantage of that power and Ive learned from a very young age, when they know an employee doesnt need the job, they are alot more careful about what they say to that person and how they say it.

I don't see how Dave has been "disrespectful" to Fez, as some are saying. Sure, he's busted balls, but I don't think he's really said anything that Ron wouldn't, and I don't think Fez feels disrespected by Ron. Fez's role on the show seems to be the guy who says or does something stupid or insane and then gets made fun of for it. Lots of times Dave will run with the bit and pick up on something that Ron's teasing Fez about, like the Rez thing, and then Fez will get furious with Dave and not the guy who started it (:smoke:). In fact, since the big blowup, Fez has tried a couple of times to start falling into the old habit of busting balls with Dave again, and Ron's had to call him out on it, telling him that he can't trade jabs with Dave for fun some days and then act sensitive on others.

Fez has been funny through all his incarnations. He has been hilarious lately and part of that is that he just stopped taking crap from anyone.

I think as soon as he is convinced Dave has been put into his proper place, Fez will lose interest in picking on him. Dave went after Fez for a long time and he still busts Fez's balls more than any other staffer ever has, so his is probably in for more pain. Fez has shown that nothing is off-limits, so Dave will just have to tread lightly.

No one can seriously say that if Dave brings up his home life, it is off-limits to Fez. If Dave stopped opening that door, and if Dave's uber fans here stopped trashing Fez, you would probably see Dave become a less appealing target for Fez.

I don't necessarily hope that happens. The situation provides endless laughs. Yesterday's revelation that Dave "left his kids with Joel Steinberg and Hedda Nussbaum" as one caller put it was even funnier with Fez's catty take.

Theres a difference between busting balls about a persons family in a funny way, and maliciously attacking them. Considering someone like Beanie loves Ron, listens to the show, and laughs at his jokes, you can see that making small jokes at her expense to get a laugh isnt bothering her.

This whole thing where Fez keeps blaming Casey for everything he considers a slight against him isnt even a joke. Hes not making jokes or trying to be funny. Hes stating what he percieves to be reality. Some people laugh because its so fucking ludicrous, but that doesnt make it a joke.

Even when they made fun of Claire it was more in a joking fashion then it was purposley mean.
