your job: title vs income

Odd question here.

What's more important to you?
Your job title/status or your income.

Ex: annalyst, director etc.

I have a job now that really doesn't have any wow factor whenever someoene asks me what I do for a living.
Sometimes I feel that my job title or what I do for a living isn't something someone would think is all that great or they would think its meaningless.

I went to college took a few majors but never fell inlove with what I was studying so needless to say didn't graduate from them. I did gain a lot of experience from it, but never got the degree/diploma to have a focused job after graduation.

I make great money right now but feel pretty shitty sometimes as I'm not in a profession like a lot of people.

Rant over, so really my point of this is do you care what you do for a living or does the money factor over rule everything?

im constantly correcting my friends and tellin em im A GREENSKEEPER and not a grounds keeper,i collect a dollar in greens fees from each golfer for my income on top of my piddily wage unlike the grounds keepers we have at my course who just mow grass or rake sand traps and actually make more than me on wage,im also their boss

I'm not sure about this....tough question. In my career of being a MOM....yes I like the title. But outside of home I don't really care I guess. I have gotten so as long as I enjoy going to work I don't care the title of pay. Happiness rules in my life before anything else.

It sounds cliche, but honestly neither. I gave up a very lucrative career for a business that doesn't pay as well but I love doing. I have business cards out of necessity, but I don't have a title anymore and couldn't care less what anyone thinks about it.

I like what I'm doing, I'm only miserable when I work super long days back to back. But just sometimes I look down on myself or think people look down on me for not having a career persay, or going to work in a suit.

But I know I make more than them, but sometimes feel lower cause I don't have that title.

There is nothing wrong with not wearing a suit....as long as you are proud of what you do, everyone will think so too.

Besides...I would think suits are uncomfortable.

You like what you do and make a decent living. Many people can't even get that.

I don't have the title next in line with my job because there couldn't be more than two people with the title - but I got the raise anyway, so.... who cares.

a) Now that's a good business card!

b) I held that position for about a year and a half before the recession.

It is all about the money. IF you give a crap about your title that means you just care too much what people think of you.

If I had a job that deemed me the title of executive or director but god paid minimum wage I wouldn't be happy.

But in the end I guess its what makes you happy and what pays the bills and let's you live somewhat of a lifestyle you want

Anybody who looks down on you for not having a "career" is an asshole. All that matters is making enough money to be happy and comfortable. If it makes you feel better, wear a suit to work. Even if you work in construction. Dress it up a little.
