This thread is geared towards Tri state dotnetters, the rest of you hayseeds can carry on tipping cows or trying to nail your 1st cousins.
So how fucked are we? Are we going to be able to watch football this season ?

The Yankees have had a whopping 4 sellouts this year; opening day and the current Sox series.

The legendary Giants season ticket waiting list has all but disappeared. You can actually buy single game tickets on their web page and
stubhub has a number of season ticket packages listed at or below cost.

The Jets are just as desperate. 20% off ( free pre-season ), and half season packages.

I was in Buffalo in the 80's and can remember Sunday road trips across the Peace Bridge into Canada just to watch a Bill's game.
Pre season is less than a week away, regular season kicks off Sept. 10th. Does the NY market even comprehend the idea of no sellout
no televised games?

they'll have to show them somehow. this reminds me of when the giants had a game that was scheduled on th nfl network. everyone was up in arms that it wouldnt be on tv. in the end it was on 3 different channels

I hope attendance plummets and the games do get blacked out.

Only then will the owners see the audacity they had in charging the prices and "ownership fees" for tickets that they did.

I've heard the the NFL has fudged it's rules and exempted some sections from the sellout rule. The most expensive sections will not have to be sold out in order to stave off local blackouts, just the upper level sections. Otherwise, the Jets/Giants would have to lower it's price on those premium sections to truly sell out the stadium. The problem with that is, they'd have to lower the price on the PSLs, which are NOT renewable every year. Once you buy the PSL, the right to buy the seats are yours until you sell it. The teams would lose hundreds of thousands of dollars.

In the NFL, the rule is the rule, until it's not the rule, those fucks. Take the Sunday Ticket off the dish and let me buy it, dirtbags.

The NFL is barely watchable unless you DVR and fast forward.

Go Bears
