So for the past year the show has revolved around fezzies problems.

Its getting to the point where I can't take it anymore. Its every week the same fucking topic with him keeps coming up. He can never get over it or just leave it off the air. The ron and fez show is not a therapist office.
How many times can we sit here and listen to the same shit over and over about his problems, his secret, this new plan etc etc.

Its saturday, I'm at work, and just wanted to listen to the replays.

I poped on 202, and it was the show where jay mohr called in. Brief call and fez had to pull it back to him. So now for over an hour I've had to listen to his paranoid talk about this conspiracy of his about the plan that everyone is out to get him.

In the past I didn't mind the crying and the odd show stop of his problems, but now its every day. And its killing the show. Its not even funny anymore.

I'm a relatively new listener. 4 years. And when I first got my xm subscription. I couldn't wait for 12-3 to come around. The show was amazing. Then it slowly started to slip into darkness.

Now when fez goes on his self important rants I turn the channel to listen to tunes. Sometimes forgetting to go back to the show, cause I'm starting to care less.

Ron save us from this shit. Or does he not care anymore?

Fez is just getting older and having his "mid-life" crisis. He regrets keeping his secret for so long. Now he's trying to be bitchy and he doesn't have anything to bitch about. What really bothers me about it is Ron can say whatever he wants and Fez never reacts,but Jay,ESD or others even have the slightest "tone",then FEZ goes off. I've only listened since XM but that's the way I see it

I just don't get it. And from the posts here, and a lot of callers. I see a lot of fans could be lost.

Fez will spend an hour or more hogging up the show with his problems. If it was a 15 minute psycho corner bit I'd be fine with it. But 1+ hrs on a 4hr show is ridiculous.

This saddens me as well. I've said on here before how I miss the old show. This new generation of the Ron and Dave show is just not good. I find myself listening (still to every minute of the show possible) out of some sense of loyalty and the knowledge that there's not too much else out there on the radio waves. I used to laugh and laugh, now listening to the show makes me feel like shit, and I think I might be happier without it......

I'm kind of sick of these types of threads. Yes, this encompasses more than just the "plan", but we've seen this thread before anyway. Yes, Fez's issues have been frustrating at times, and "the plan" was very draining, but did anyone notice that Friday was a really solid show with all members of the show firing on all cylinders and no discussions of the "plan" or an-air tensions between Fez and Dave displayed? At least i thought it was a good one. Sure, Fez's OCDs were discussed, but it was done in a more humorous vein rather than dwelling on the issue. Is that a step in the direction of the future of the Ron & Fez Show or just an aberration? I don't know. The point is it was a lot of fun. I don't know what the future holds for the show. I'm not going to tell you "Fez is back!" or tell you that you should blindly support the show. Just consider enjoying what you have while you've got it. Or don't, and maybe think about moving on.

When I first heard the show I laughed every time fez spoke. He has a sort of "musical" way of speaking that almost makes me think he's smiling as he talks.(Much like anthony from "that other show") I just want fez to get it together and lose the "poor me" gimmick. Not sure if you are serious or just making a great point. The WJFK era was maligned for not being WNEW, and now people look back on it fondly. Not to say that the current show doesn't have its issues, but there's always an element of people looking back on the past more fondly.

As Mikeyboy pointed out, Friday's show was like any other Ron and Fez show from any other era. Dave didn't take any shots a hosts, much less take them all day long, Fez was on (evidently now called "trying to compete with Dave for word count by the Fez haters). Fez was enjoying Dave's contributions (it's never been about Fez "jealousy").

The show was like that all week, though (cue the "Jay Mohr call" whiners) and has been for months because Fez has been right there. His sudden turnaround was remarkable but the anti-Fez whining and attacks (and Dave's anti-Fez production pieces) simultaneously intensified, oddly enough.

All that said, the crying shows never bother me at all anyway. Can't remember a day I haven't laughed at the show, and can't remember a day I found any of it the least bit annoying or depressing other than the rare days when there are self-laughers in studio.

Random occasional lurker/poster here, but Mikey's got a point... It's always easier to look back fondly on anything because memory has a way of only keeping the good, not the bad. Probably to keep us all from being completely miserable. When I listen to some dot com shows, I cringe (mostly at Al Dukes). Same goes for DC. It just depends on the segment, not the hosts.

Ron and Fez can't stay exactly the same as any era though, because that would become stale. Some days I agree with Fez, some days with Dave, and most days with Ron and Pepper. They're constantly evolving and while they're on the air, I'll end up listening whenever I can.

As for Fez in particular... Everyone has their 'up' days and their 'down' days... hell, the same goes for 'weeks', 'months' or 'years'. Being someone who has dealt with depression and anxiety for over a decade, I can't blame Fez for trying to function every day. In fact, he has a harder job of it because he's on a multi-national show, doing his best to find equilibrium in public. I don't envy him, but I DO root for him - to find his balance, to make peace with Dave & Casey and Jay etc., to avoid killing his cat (Can't help it, I'm an animal lover). He'll get there... he already sounds like he's hit his turning point (I hope!).

I feel like my walk-off music to this post should be Fleetwood Mac's 'Don't Stop'... whoops.

Like i said in my giant post "nothing gold can stay" I think R&F is the best program on radio and has been for years. If people say it was better in d.c or florida or wherever then shit it must have spectacular. But things change. Maybe you were younger and quicker to laugh back then.

Even if the entire program was just Ronnie B giving you his take on the world the show and this board would be worthwhile. Having said all that.. Yes the last couple weeks is the first time ever that Fez is actually pissing me and other people off. If he knocks Dave off the show then we are really going to suffer.

I would just like to remind people Fez's shrink went on vacation, the boys have been learning how to deal with an extra hour and i think they will rebound. The show will ride high again..

I think collectively we've gone over all aspects of the new Fez. Personally Im not nearly the fan I once was, and Ive started to think its somewhat unfair to him that as a public figure/radio personality his breakdown/mental issues have brought so much attention blah blah....

I use the time that Fez is belly-aching about his latest hang-up to go make a cup of espresso or something. But rather than pile on and complain, I think he needs to figure out where his humor came from. He seems burnt out. I'm comparing the NEW stuff and then the XM stuff. In-between something got lost. But you're right. Arod slumping isn't like Fez's problems. At least you know Arod will eventually snap out of it. Fez just seems to want to create more for himself which is why he's seeing conspiracies against him everywhere.

Interviewing a guy who teaches it and he was saying the first rule of improv is to never say no. I don't like it because the funny isn't worth the rest of the consequences, whether you're talking about personal consequences like either party losing sleep at night (both said they are) or consequences to the show either from people who are put off by the whole thing, or the two not being able to continue working together in both of their highest capacities.

But wasn't in the realm of any possibility. Everyone knew what they had to know. The idea would be unfathomable.

Is the issue Fez as a co-host? No - he's been one for a long time and been tops at it.

Is the issue 4 hours? Nah.

Is the issue that "Fez has lost it"? No, too much recent proof otherwise.

The issue is Dave. The solution is up for debate, but lleeder's point about an Earl vacuum is a good one.

You already know he's not dominant so he wouldn't have the personality or practice to shut down his attackers if he doesn't think he has the structure behind him, which used to include virtually the entire audience including ronfez.net. Remember "Get better buddy." "We love you buddy." Must be a statute of limitations that runs out when we see how much fun it is to take shots at Fezzie when he's down.

The blame in each and every Fez vs Dave incident is inextricable but how can anyone assign it to Fez when ESD is still taking shots about the BBQ.

He's been telling Dave to shut his pie hole and let Fez talk over the last few days. And he told Fez yesterday that Fez is criticizing Dave but that "the guy is in here" all day - i.e., Fez could shut him up or kick him out if he wanted to.

I'm guessing he might view it as disrespectful to tell Fez how to deal with it.
