Fez isn't a dominant personality. Fez has never been a dominant personality. Fez's status as host of the show has kept staffers in their place. That's not happening now.

Fez was always the beloved because he could do his thing without some idiot staffer parroting Ron and taking shots at him. During a period of physical and emotional weakness, the idiot staffer takes advantage of the situation instead of stepping up and continuing to respect the host.

The idiot staffer's behavior brings out a segment of the audience both in calls and online who are douchebags at heart and they enjoy joining the staffer in piling on the host.

Soon, the host sees he is perceived differently. Now the host is forced to deal with the problem he shouldn't have to deal with to begin with. The same douchebags react negatively because of the way this non-dominant personality host responds.

That actually makes sense.

I see the point you make but remember that Fez described some as "not knowing they are part of it," by which he meant that when someone calls in or posts here to bust Fez's balls with the "crazy loser" theme, or when someone appears on Dave's show, etc., Dave gets a charge from it, and/or benefits by it or believes he does, regardless of the level of intent on the person's part.

Sometimes he has gone further to suggest they should have been aware of this and opted against participation, equating indifference with malice because he believes he is entitled to expect that level of awareness on his behalf, but I don't think he's committed to that point.

I think a simpler way of putting it is that Fez has conveyed through all his talk about this that he thinks the time has come for people to choose sides. Which doesn't mean hating Dave as a person or on the show, but not tacitly supporting the kind of negative crap that he thinks is in large part a consequence of Dave undermining his rightful status on the show.

I think one of the reason's that Ron and Fez distanced themselves from this board is that they have no control over it. I'm sure that Sirius would much prefer that they promote something that they have creative control over, such as a twitter account. It just makes more sense from a business perspective. I think a lot of the fighting is a way to cover for what the suits said must be done... distance the Ron & Fez show from RonFez.net. I don't think that that means never mention the board again, but as the thread title suggests, we're not longer the official.
