I'm no lawyer but I can't see how a Federal Court (or Appeals Court or the Supreme Court, for that matter) will allow a state court jurisdiction over the Internet.

All that would do is put a target on the back of anyone that ever posts online. The first time some psycho tracked down a poster whos full name was revealed and murdered that person for some random comment he made about the psychos sports team/political candidate/favorite musician the heat that would come down on the courts to changing it back would be immense.

You can sue anyone for anything. It doesn't mean you'll win. The judge wasn't in a position to decide if the case is worthy of the court's time. It was just his job to decide if she had the right to receive information that can help her know who to sue, IF she were to later decide to sue. It is all very stupid, but none of it really had anything to do with a potential law suit. I think she's basically just trying call the guy out.
