Are skin tags indicative of anything? does the location matter?

Skin tags, or acrochordons generally occur where skin rubs on skin (creases, like the neck, armpits, groin, etc) and are benign skin growths that are painless. No treatment is necessary, but they can be removed with sharp dissection (i.e., a nice sharp pair of knizzors) in the doctor's office easily. They're indicative only of skin rubbing and of genetics; if your family has skin tags, you probably will too. I've taken up to 100 of them off someone's neck at a time on occasion. when removed properly, there's no scar.

here are some pictures of unfortunate people for your amusement:

See, this is the thing about being a doctor: you have visions of going in and heroically ripping people out of the grasp of death, of saving people no one else can...and the next thing you know, you're pulling skin tags off some scumbag's ass.

and what's weird is that the person I yank the skin tags off of is going to be way more appreciative of my efforts. the whole "i'd rather look good than feel good" mode of thought.
