...have you loved?

I mean how many have you truly been in love with?

Some people believe there is only one love for each of us.

I feel we are capable of loving a great many different partners, as different as they may be.

2 and I am still close with both of them, but not in an obsessed creepy way. They both mean something to me from how I was at that period in my life. I was at the wedding reception of one of them with the other at the time.

3: my hs sweetheart, a chick I dated in Denver, and my current gf. When I left my ex wife I thought about this and wondered how much I really loved her. Well, my answer was that marriage to her was a mistake from the start.

Please don't.

The question was how many LOVERS have you truly loved, not how many people.

How Many Lovers...

...have you loved?

I mean how many have you truly been in love with?

Some people believe there is only one love for each of us.

I feel we are capable of loving a great many different partners, as different as they may be.

That's the original post.

No idea why people are including their children. :surrender:

Good question. The answer is 3 and one of them is my high school girlfriend.

I look back on that through the lens of my 43 year old eyes at first and think "that wasn't love" but the truth is that is was. I was 16, 17 and I loved her like a 16 year old. It's not the same kind of love I feel now, but it was definitely love.

Hey, I've got the makings of a John Mayer song here.

Ever notice how Gvac asks these personal questions, but never answers them himself?

First of all, I didn't ask the question, GregoryJoseph did.

Secondly, that's simply not true.

I always answer the questions I post; sometimes right away, other times further along into the thread.

Really, truly? I think just one, my husband. I can't imagine life without him. I thought I loved others, but when I see them now, I remember how much I dislike them for one reason or another.

I do believe in soul mates. I am not sure if my husband is my soul mate. Doesn't really matter though, I am kind of stuck with him now.

After I met Gvac, I decided he is my soul mate. I am pretty sure of this, well, him or JerseyRich.

You're never going to get a straight answer out of her, because her husband reads this board.

Her real number is probably closer to 50.

(you know I'm kidding, right?)

You don't have to be kidding...I can handle the truth! I may have had "relations" with 50 or more people, but that doesn't mean I loved them. (you know I am kidding, right?)

Right now, 2.

But, being young, I can imagine there will be more.

You never know how many you could have because once you find that one love that can last forever, numbers stop having meaning.
