I haven't used Spybot in a while but I would still approve of it. I go decently security-heavy. Avast (with AVG backup) , PeerGuardian and a Firefox + NoScript combo.

That's probably a bit much for most casual computer users. Especially NoScript, which can be highly annoying for someone who just wants to go to some websites.

It would take him 2 days to download it, just send him the floppy.

Firefox + NoScript is great, but confusing for someone lacking in PC literacy. AVG is no longer the cats pajamas in free Antivirus. Avira AntiVir has surpassed AVG. For pay security Eset Nod 32 is without equal.

on the other hand fezzy has dial-up so he is safer then most.

Fez should just unclench his checkbook and buy a pimpin new computer then he just has to stop going to those gay sites that are putting viruses on his computer

Spybot is a great tool for what it does, but it is not to be relied upon as a virus program. It should be used in conjunction with a virus program.

Eset Nod 32 is a good virus program but I am not sure noobs like Fez should be running it. Sometimes if you do not set-up a good program like this correctly you think you are more secure than you really are and tend to rely on the virus program for security when in fact main security should always be how you use your computer and where you go online and what you download.

An easy to use program like Avira would be perfect for Fez. AVG lost ground to them on their last version.

Also, not that Fez trusts anyone, but if he did, someone should run Hijack This ( a free program) on his computer to see what exactly is running in the background on his computer and kill and remove suspicious entries. Or Fez can do it himself. He doesn't have to know what is suspicious. All he has to do is be able to cut & paste his results to the Free forum and one of the security experts will gladly tell him for free which program and process is hijacking his info and how to delete it.
