Fred vs Dave

If Fred is so unhappy with the way he's treated by the show, or fans of the show, or the message boards, then why not just go away? If he went away, everyone would forget about him. He cares more about fighting than he does about getting past any problems.

and this guy fred has now been elevated in the pecking order of the show. he has gone from a relatively obscure fellow onto the same level as Dave.

I admit i haven't listened to the show over the past year much, middays were tough and late night ain't an option, but yesterday was the first day that i have ever even heard of fred. who the fuck is fred? now it's fred v dave. fred, fred, fred. fred has to be loving this.

i can't wait to hear how ronnie b handles this. great radio. got me tuned in listening with bated breath. i bet RB doesn't even mention it until the 3rd or 4th hour. if that's the case, then it is mostly hype and little substance.

I've been listening to RF since I was fourteen, but never wanted to get involved in the manic society that is their fanbase. But after today... yeesh!

Fred came off sounding more ridiculous than ever, and the obnoxious way he expected people to be on his side (Man up to your wife, Ronnie didn't take my side at the sit down, his constant 'what am I doing here' like his insight is valuable ect) made me hate him. All Fred did was moan and groan and cry about his failed dreams of being on the radio because he didn't get a single podcast one time satellite. Let's not forget how he tried to shove on Dave a monker of 'celebrity' ... Jealous at all, Fred? : /

I try not to get too engrossed in the Dave/Casey/Fez/Internet business, because I always imagined it was a Kaufman work or bit or ... something. But this Fred affair was just killing me. Dave is one of the best elements of the show after Ron and Fez themselves - he always makes me laugh every show. Fred is simply a listener... get back behind your XM radio Fred, while Dave gets behind the (third) mic.

Let's also not forget Ron brings all this crap up and instigates all the time. Yet never catches any shit for it. Not from fez, not from callers, not from people on message boards. The personal attacks on Fez and Dave are inexcusible and honestly I blame Ron in the end.

My reasoning for this is before R&F came to satellite they weren't national so it was ok to have close interaction with the audience. Smaller pool of people = less trouble makers. Now on a international level there is a huge pool of assholes that see people like Gvac, Moe, Mikey have a close relationship with the show and think "Hey I can do that to", but in the completely wrong way. These said aholes most likely came from the O&A audience. I'm not bashing O&A I fucking love them but their fans are fucking brutal. With all the crap that has happened with those fans it was inevitable they would leak over to R&F. Same channel, another great comedy show. O&A entertained this community for a while until it bit them in the ass. Ronnie on the other hand has pretty much embraced it and let it take over his show and destroy what Mikey built here.

Why would it be so hard to believe that Casey et al. would do a little prank like add Fred's name to these lists or destroy his sites? Wasn't she a member of a group known as the "Mean Girls"? I'm not sure where that name came from, but to me it sounds like a group of girls who would pull just such a high school stunt like this.

Fred is self employed, and seems to rely heavily on local advertising and business, so something small like that could really destroy his business. Fred has (as reported by Ron), a pretty decent business going, and a lot to lose, whereas Dave and Casey are essentially living off scraps, so what would she have to lose by escalating a war with Fred? She does however have a lot of personal satisfaction to win by ruining him. Wouldn't anyone who was being called all those names on a podcast want revenge?

I don't think Dave is a part of this. I think he realizes he married a chick far too hot for him and does not want to stir the waters, so he convinces himself that she can do no wrong.
