I've tried other products that involved using a drill with an aplicator and had no success. This stuff kicks ass! Like new in 5 minutes!

I've never done that, but I use fine steel wool and foaming window cleaner for my windshield. Has the same effect as Rain-X, but without fogging it up.

They are bulky, but you wouldn't mind that in the winter. Just have a magnet on a stick available because you might drop some small things (nuts, bolts, smaller sockets, etc).

The normal ones are also fantastic, they are snug as hell, and save your hands from the typical cuts.
