I had been attending meetings and get togethers for the last 10 or so years, but lately I have been questioning my involvement as I am trying to get a new job, and being apart of this group could jeopardize my potential employment.

The group I belong to is all white, there is no written rule forbidding minorities, but none would want to belong anyway. The guy who runs it, holds meetings once a week, preaches some scripture, and talks allot about the white man losing there foothold of power, and the fact that we will be a minority soon. He calls on us to help our white brothers and sisters, via small business that employs other whites, supporting white owned business, and not dating out of the race.


Am I a racist? I mean I dont believe everything the guy says, but I have been attending these meetings for 10 years.

We discuss how this is part of our covenant with God, and we cannot expect the other religions to follow it, as they have either never been part of the covenant, (buddhists, muslims, shintoists, hindus) or they walked away from it (Christians).

To refer to the trash of one race as if they were the same as the respectable people of that race does a disservice to the respectable people, at least in my opinion.

Then again where I grew up we used derogitory racial terms as simple adjectives growing up. Irish kids never got mad when referred to as micks or harps. And we never got bent out of shape when being called degos or wops. To us it was no different then being called tall or skinny. Do you think that everyone who refers to n*ggers make this distinction? I've certainly heard that word enough in my life where the speaker was not making the disctinction. The origin of the word and how it's used by a lot of people don't make that distinction.

I think it's the same with "ragheads." As the one thread about the Iraq War and R&F reflected, after 9/11, a lot of people in anger and injury over the event, expressed the view that all ragheads, sand n*ggers, etc. should be killed and the whole area made a parking lot.

History does not matter, currently I DO NOT refer to random black people as N*ggers, I only use the word to describe the trash of the black community, it aint like I am throwing the word around at random...i find the word offensive and reserve it for special occasions.
