About a year ago my nose just clogged up and wont unclog. Ive been to the doc and hes given me 3 different antihistamine and none of them really worked. Only thing that been working for more than a few hours is Zicam extreme congestion relief. Along with that i been hacing chrinic broncitus and my broncial passages will get congested also and i'll have to get a shot of cortizone to make that go away. Any idea would be the bessssssst.

I love how the makers of Zicam make themselves out to be homeopathic and "natural" medication providers. The original Zinc Zicam was pretty interesting, there were a couple of studies that indicated that zinc might be helpful in shortening the duration of the common cold, but later studies showed little benefit and a few people lost their sense of smell altogether after using it.
Well, enter Zicam Extreme Congestion Relief. The active ingredient isn't an herb or anything like that, it's Oxymetazoline. As in AFRIN. It's the same exact stuff that's in Afrin, showing that there's nothing new under the sun.
Oxymetazoline is a 12 hour decongestant that works on the capillaries in the nose, shutting them down and shrinking the tissues inside the nose. It works great, but 12 hours later you lose the effect PLUS the capillaries relax a bit and the congestion is just a little bit worse. So you dose yourself again, fine no problem. Until a month later you realize you're still using the stuff and you're hopelessly addicted to it. Oxymetazoline's downfall is that it just works too damn good.
You didn't really say whether you'd been on the Zicam all this time, I'm just ranting about oxymetazoline. However, it would certainly explain why you're still congested if you have been using it for several months.
Let me know if that's a possibility...I have a few tips and tricks for Afrin addiction. If you only started it a few days ago, I'll go back to the drawing board.

steve

Thanks DrSteve. And no i havent been on ZIcam all this time. I went for about 6-9 months with going to a doctor and him giving me pills for allergies and them not working. It wasnt till after then i started using Zicam. I havent been using it so much and the congestion comes and goes now. ( i dont have a addictive personality. I quit smoking one time by just telling myself to not by anymore smokes for myself) I also started using a neti pot but the findings are mixed with it....
