Because those same religious people never blame god for something bad. The only time they blame or say god did something bad is when it is done to people they dont like or dont care about. You never hear these same people say "God wanted Obama to win" because that negative against their views.

I don't think that's entirely true. Whenever some kid gets mowed down by a drunk driver you hear shit like "it's God's plan." And not just when it's a democrat's kid.

I had a conversation with someone about how I don't think God is calling the shots. I used the example of children being stricken with diseases. If God is saying, 'this seems like a good idea' then why would anyone want to worship him?

Why would God suddenly deviate from his M.O.? In his various acts of vengeance described in the bible (the flood, Sodom & Gomorrah, the Egyptian plagues), when has he ever gotten on the galactic PA system? He has always come to a prophet or sent a messenger who is tasked with convincing the rest of the people.

It's one thing if you just want to dismiss the concept of divine intervention/retribution altogether, but if you're going to entertain the notion, you can't just make up your own rules. You might as well ask "Why doesn't God fix everyone's brains so they can't think anything but nice, Godly thoughts?"

Fox cancelled Beck's show because ratings are plummeting and no one beyond gold buying scamsters will buy ads on it anymore.

There is no First Amendment issue here at all. Beck's show was killed for the usual reason shows get killed: it's not worth keeping it on for its network anymore.

I don't think it would be that different from other Crossfire style shows. Cable news is essentially opposite points of view screaming at each other.
