Hmmm...how to answer "where have you been?" ... mostly I've been figuring out which toilet in my house is most convenient for barfing.

My morning sickness was a real bitch, but now I feel fine as long as I don't eat anything fried, zucchini, Colby-Jack cheese or anything with high fructose corn syrup in it.

So Liz hijacked the Bergen Bar Night thread with this, so let's just give it its own thread.

Congratulations on getting knocked up. We all have lived in fear of Matty reproducing since you two got hitched.

And congrats Uncle Sheepy...

He says raising Junior to be a Jets fan is tantamount to child abuse.

You gotta pick a better team for us.

(Please, not the Eagles. Or the Dolphins. But I could live with the Ravens.)

I would go giants but I dont know if Matty can deal with that. I dont care who he roots for, just dont make him a Rutgers fan, PLEASE. God are they terrible

Personally if you are goin random out of area, get the kid into any winner. Dont let him root for shitty teams. Wait til he is older and they get shitty to laugh at him for that

I have no problem with the Celtics. Definately no mets, jets, knicks. NONE

Maybe go the Colts, the Bulls (who will be good for awhile) and the Cardinals. Keep him there and he wont ever get hurt too bad

Don't get me started on Rutgers football this year. We could totally have a scream fest, agree about everything and raise our blood pressure for no reason whatsoever. RU has other positives for me, but, as an alumna with her 10-year ReUnion coming up, I have other experiences to draw from. Also, I survived the Terry Shea years. Adversity makes one stronger, although it does suck to root for a team that throws 6? INT's in the red zone during the first half. (I kind of had a trip down nostalgia lane at the season opener, as I could hear my buddy Chuck in the back of my head as he intoned "why do we suck?")

I have no quarrel with the Giants. (George Martin lives in my hometown and his sons played (rec league) football with my brother Ger.)

Matty has no quarrel with the Giants.

We root for Big Blue when we're not rooting for the Jets. Giants are a possibility.

I only sort of watch the Knicks, but that's because my grandfather was a Knicks fan. Truthfully, I hate watching basketball on TV. It's much better live!

I think it's actually copyrighted or some junk like that ... they make a BIG deal out of the branding.

Honestly, 2010 will be the first reunion I'll be able to attend since Graduation, so I'm actually looking forward to it ... and bringing Baby, who, if they take after Mommy, will be RU class of 2032. (Of course, there are other schools to consider, but RU is still a bargain in comparison!)

Nice to see one of your boys wasn't too tired to swim the whole lap and make it upstream! Congrats!!
Penn State. Good school!

Giants...good team.

But god please ANYTHING but the Red Sox. My niece is going to be raised in a Red Sox home (and Cowboys too) and it makes me throw up just a little in my mouth.

Just hope it's a healthy and intelligent baby. Congrats again

Well if I ever have a child (god forbid) I plan on raising them Jets fans so they can suffer alongside me.

Congrats you two. Liz you are going to kick ass at motherhood. Matty on the other hand, well I'm sure the kid will have some good survival instincts :)

I think, now that I've stopped freaking out about making mistakes (which are inevitable), I am very chill about the whole parenting thing.

Now all I need to do is sleep, 'cause a newborn isn't gonna let me do any of that upon arrival!

the lack of sleep phase is only really in the beginning, and it depends on what mom does. if its from the bottle, daddy can get up every other shift (if needed). if its from the tap, well, then its all you.

oh, and its going to be a girl. i sense it.

the freaking out will creep in again a few days before you go into labor cause you will realize it will soon be out of your womb and there is no going back. But the moment you hold that child in your arms everything changes.

And I sense its a boy ;)

...

I figure I can buy some time if I pump a couple times a day ... we'll see how that goes.

The freaking out part was years and years and years ago when I was still terrified that I'd grow up and become my mother.

I'm sure I'll have some sort of freakout in March, but, for now, I'm pretty chill.

He only took it at the daycare.

Our oldest niece was like that - no bottle, not ever - so I do understand that's a distinct possibility.
