Kevin Costner. He did Dances with Wolves, which was huge, and then the only two films he's directed after that were Waterworld and Postman, which both sucked and did dick at the box office.

Correct me if Im wrong, and I cant remember his name anyway, but the guy who did American History X- I never heard of him after that.

Im kinda scared my Spike Jonze is gunna fall into this category if Adaptation doesnt do well, but Id see anything of his anyway.

Tony Kaye did AHX, he hasn't done a newer movie since.

Another possibility- Mel Brooks, Producers might very well be his greatest film.

How about Ed Burns? He did "The Brothers McMullen", won the Grand Prize at Sundance, then put out 3 stinkers.

Tarantino actually just guest starred on last night's Alias (which is a two parter with the second part next week) in a major role, at least with two episodes.

He did res dogs, pulp, jackie brown. Disappeared. His next movie is Kill Bill which is going to be filmed once Uma Thurman's no longer pregnant.

She's not that bad but Ethan Hawke, not that I'm up on the latest Hollywood gossip, I just remember them talking about it on R&F.

Oh and guess which latest celebrity was caught in a scandalous position in his or HER car...we'll tell you after this.

John Singleton is on this list.
He did "Boyz N the Hood" then all of his other movies were pretty bad.
There was "Higher Learning", "Rosewood" (I think that's the title), "Baby Boy" etc..

How about Tim Burton...you want to talk about a guy that has put on a lot of stinkers. I mean Beetlejuice was OK, (not sure if this was his first film), but ever since then it has been downhill...everything in all his movies look the same. Has that gothic look and feel to it, including Ed Wood . He absolutly killed me with that bomb last year, Back to the Future Part II with Ape masks (Better known as planet of the apes) ...uggghhh, yet myself ands everyone else still watches his crap.

no you were right. I just checked IMDB. I was amazed at how many movies he did before Yojimbo.

Totally agree with Mettelhead. John Singleton's stuff after Boyz in the Hood has been such a disappointment after an unbelievable first film.

I think, therefore I am..............a moron.

Michael Cimino. His second flim was The Deer Hunter, then he made Heaven's Gate and his career went away quick. And while I am optimistic on Spiderman, Sam Raimi hasn't done a great film in a looong time.

Cake or Death? Uh, I'll have the cake please.

Rami's been wasting too much time on his Xena tv crap to make a decent movie. it's a shame.

I thought the gift was damned good and A Simple Plan was fantastic. but still, ED wasn't his best movie as ED2 was the best of the trilogy.
