View Full Version : Yale Student Disappears...Body Found in Wall of School Building!

This is such a crazy story! Last seen entering the building with cameras but never seen leaving. A search turns up her body in the walls of said building! She was supposed to be married a few days ago. This is so depressing.
US police are investigating a laboratory technician over the murder of the Yale University graduate student Annie Le, whose body was found inside a wall on Sunday. No arrest has yet been made.
Police in New Haven have said definitively that no suspect is in custody and no students are suspected in the murder. But in an effort to allay public fears on the urban campus, police have said the killing was not a "random act".
Le went missing last Tuesday morning, having left her wallet, keys and purse in her office in a medical school building about a mile from Yale's main campus. She was filmed by surveillance cameras during her final walk to the facility where her body was found on Sunday.
Access to the basement laboratory where Le's body was found is tightly controlled and workers there are required to swipe ID cards to gain entry, limiting the pool of potential suspects, the Yale president, Richard Levin, told medical school staff and students yesterday. The pavement outside the building is closely monitored by surveillance cameras.

I was following this story since last week, thinking she might have got cold feet and took off... but ending like this, so sad... and scary too. Maybe a jealous classmate? Professor? A disturbed worker at the lab who fooled a background check?

I guess it pretty much has to be a janitor or security guard or someone along those lines to have access to the area where she was found.

About 10 years or so, another female Yale student (an undergrad) was killed and a professor was suspected. I don't think they ever determined who did it.

Hmmm, Cold Case files? Maybe it's the same person.
I shouldn't be shocked because I know there is evil in this world but I still am when I hear stuff like this.

she was found on the day she was supposed to be married.
From what I heard the security in the building forces you to swipe cards to get in the basement area as well again for the area where she was found.
So it must have been someone with access.
I hope they find the murderer. She was a very pretty girl too. Such a shame.

From what I heard on the local news last night a lab tech is the suspect, but they did not have him in custody.

no, the pretty comment was separate from the shame one. She was young and had her life ahead of her, I don't care if you are fat, ugly pretty or whatnot, she seems to have died innocently and that is a shame.

I wouldn't be surprised if the murder in '99 is what led to all those security measures being installed in buildings... then again, they do animal testing in that building, so I guess the security is needed to keep the PETA nutbars out.
I couldn't even imagine what's going through the fiance's head right now. He's gotta be just crushed.

They made an arrest. 24 year old lab assistant "Raymond Clark".
He actually wasn't arrested until this morning. He had been taken into custody to get a DNA sample. When he provided it and asked for an attorney, he was released pending the DNA results.
But he was arrested and charged with murder today.

one story i heard on the radio tonight
was saying that the Le did research using animals
and that Clark was in charge of taking care of the animals
there was an implication that this
may have been a workplace dispute
what if it turns out that Le was torturing
the animals
and Clark, their keeper, finally snapped
and killed her
what if it turns out
that Clark is the good guy?

Exactly. Whatever the moral ethics of animal testing, killing a human being is certainly worse than that. Plus, animal testing is legal.

Clark was responsible for changing and cleaning the cages and sent her an email complaining about them not being kept clean

Yeah, the picture of him emerging seems to be that of a workplace bully who snapped.
